Trouble in Paradise: Why Kofi Kingston Should Be Moved to Raw in the WWE Draft
In the past, I've criticized others for not having original ideas. Well now, you can criticized me. Rize gave me this idea, when I couldn't think up much else.
Now to the business at hand. You all probably have realized by now, I am a fan of Kofi Kingston. I have been since his debut in the WWE. There's always been something about him that made me really like him.
Kofi Kingston debuted in the WWE, and would soon take off like a rocket. He feuded with high profile names such as Shelton Benjamin and Chris Jericho right off the bat and was the United States Champion.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
After teaming up with CM Punk and another championship reign, Kofi would begin a feud with Randy Orton. In my opinion, this feud showed that Kofi Kingston had all the tools to become a star in the WWE.
We all knew about his amazing high flying moves before, but Kofi also showcased his mic skills and a mean streak.
The mic skills became evident when Kingston destroyed Randy Orton's custom made NASCAR car. The mean streak, from the otherwise happy-go-luck Superstar, became evident from the brawl and eventual boom drop at Madison Square Garden.
Along with this, Kingston became one of the most popular faces in the WWE today. He is easily the most over midcarder in the WWE right now.
Then, Randy Orton reportedly complained to backstage officials about a botched punt turned RKO. After this, Kofi would spiral down faster than he rose to the main event scene.
Then came the 2010 WWE Draft. We all said that a move to Smackdown was just what the doctor ordered for Kingston. And at first, he went on a winning streak and became the Intercontinental Champion.
Then, seemingly a ghost of the past (in backstage politics) began to haunt him once again.
As proof of this, Kingston has won exactly one singles match in 2011. For a while, I was puzzled as to why Kingston had once again been buried by WWE Management.
Then, I was pointed to Michael Hayes' past issues with African-American talent. For those of you unaware, Hayes is the head writer for Friday Night Smackdown.
For instance, Bobby Lashley left the WWE under very cloudy circumstances. In an interview with Voice of Wrestling Radio in 2008, here is what Lashley said about Haynes:
"It's unlikely that you guys bring up the one person that I would rather not even talk about...sure, I could have had some dealings with him in the past...I'm not even sure if he was supposed to be the person writing me in [back into the show], I was told that...and it fits perfectly...so whether I had bad blood with him, I can tell you I personally don't like the guy"

Another instance of this was with Mark Henry. This is from WrestlingNewsSource.com in 2008:
"The Sun out of the U.K. has a story on the Michael Hayes-Mark Henry racial incident. The story says that Hayes was drunkingly singing a few songs on stage (which was set up for a band at the after Hall of Fame ceremony party). An eyewitness at the party said, "Hayes was up on stage, drunk, singing badly and swaying all over the place. It's the same thing he did at Stephanie McMahon's wedding to Triple H. Only this night didn't turn out so well for him."
The eyewitness claims that later in the night, Hayes was ribbing SmackDown wrestler Mark Henry, saying that his lack of success on the brand was due to him "not being black enough." Hayes then added, "I've got soul, brother. I'm more of a n***** than you are!" Hayes was extremely inebriated during the incident with Henry. Henry later reported the incident to WWE officials, and Hayes was suspended for 60 days."
So with past history, it's doubtful if Hayes is willing to give Kofi Kingston a push.
Enter the WWE Draft this Monday night.
If drafted, Kingston could once again have a fresh start on Monday Night Raw.
Not only would being away from Hayes and Orton be a positive, but Kingston would have more of a following on the WWE's A-Show.
He would get out of the shadow of Rey Mysterio, whose character has the same target audience. Heck, Kingston could become Raw's second or third face behind John Cena and possibly John Morrison.
And if Kingston is that far up the ladder on the A-Show, the WWE would almost have no choice to push this guy. Let's face it, they already have no reason (aside from backstage politics) to not push him; because Kofi Kingston is the full package.
Enough of me, do you think Kofi deserves better than he is currently getting? Do you think a move to Raw would suit him well? Or is he bound for the future endeavored list no matter what happens? I always welcome and respond to feedback.
Thanks for reading.
