WWE WrestleMania 27: Too Many Left Out in the Dark
WrestleMania 27 has officially come and pass and I, like so many others out there, am plagued by a feeling of disappointment. However, unlike most others who are disappointed with the Corre being squashed by Santino and Friends, stupid backstage segments and a lackluster main event, I am most upset with the amount of talent that was completely left out of WrestleMania.
First, I was happy to see that Christian would be in Edge's corner for his match against Alberto Del Rio. This allowed for a multitude of storyline possibilities to start at WrestleMania. Instead, Christian got an entrance and pretty much nothing else. I guess he broke a window or two on Del Rio's car, but he was given nothing that any of us will ever remember seeing. But hey, at least he got to show his face.

Never have I seen a WrestleMania card where so many superstars were completely forgotten about. Let's take a look at some of the members of the roster who were left out.
Evan Bourne
Mark Henry
R-Truth
Ted DiBiase
The Great Khali
Drew McIntyre
William Regal
Vladimir Kozlov
Every Diva not named Layla or Michelle McCool
Why would someone like Drew McIntyre, who is supposed to be a future World Champion, be left to watch the entire event from the back? WWE has a Divas division that is as weak as it has ever been, yet they don't use their biggest event of the year to try and push their talent? You have great young, up-and-coming talent sitting with nothing to do, and instead you give Michael Cole 10 minutes to try to beat up Jerry Lawler. I just don't get it.
And there are many more, though I wasn't ever surprised to see superstars such as Trent Baretta or Yoshi Tatsu left off the WrestleMania card. But why on earth would you leave out some of the superstars who were in main events only months prior?
Sure, some of these guys got their face time in the Snoop Dog segment, but three weeks from now, nobody will be able to remember if that was a part of WrestleMania or some clip from a bad episode of Monday Night Raw.
Sure, WWE substituted Kofi Kingston for Vladimir Kozlov. It was a good move considering they had booked the card without putting a huge fan-favorite in a match, not to mention he had only lost the Intercontinental Championship less than two weeks ago, but how much time did he get in the ring? If I remember correctly, the answer is zero.
Then you have my biggest problem with the entire event. I have already stated my opinions on Sheamus and how I feel he is being used here, but to go and take his match with Daniel Bryan completely off of the televised card is a complete slap in the face.
Sheamus is a two time WWE Champion and the current United States champion, and yet he was still left off the main card. Daniel Bryan is one of the best technical wrestlers in the WWE, yet nobody saw his face on their television. Why?
Sure, the match actually took place before the show went live on pay-per-view, but when am I going to get to see it? I'm sure it will be a DVD extra, but I already saw WrestleMania 27 once, and I'm not sure that I'm in a hurry to see it again.
The Sheamus/Daniel Bryan match was one of the very few matches I was excited about, yet WWE thought it would be a better use of their time to show us a backstage segment featuring Snoop Dog and a rapping Hornswoggle.
So I guess WWE felt that they were pressed for time and decided it would be better to cut what could have been one of the best matches of the night instead of The Rock recruiting Pee Wee Herman to Team Bring It. How many of you think they made the right decision?
I had hopes for WrestleMania. I didn't think it was going to be great, but I was at least hoping for good. I don't even think I got that.
