New HBO TV Show about Wrestling
HBO and TV icon Norman Lear are working together to produce a new pro wrestling drama.
Former WCW VP of Marketing Aaron Blitzstein is the writer for the show. The series will take place in the 1970s and focus on a family running a pro wrestling business in New York.
There is not a title for the show, which will be out as soon as the show is starting to be promoted.
"Every day was the greatest day ever and the worst day you could possibly imagine," Blitzstein recalls about his time at WCW. "I've never seen more colorful people than pro wrestlers."
"It was more of mom-and-pop type of feel back then," said Blitzstein about the 1970s. "And it was a little bit more ridiculous and fun."

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
This all came in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, and I was lucky to find out about it. This sounds amazing and with the success of "The Wrestler" at the Toronto film festival, they have decided to make it a feature film out in theaters in about a year and a half.
So with that said, this is sure to be successful, as long as they make it interesting, we all love wrestling so it will be interesting to see what goes on behind the scenes for real, and the stuff that happens with the wrestlers with management, considering the family is sort of like the McMahons in the WWE.
There has not been anyone casted yet, nor has there been any casting calls, however, it is certain that it will be happening. It is certain agian that no full-time wrestler will be a main character in the show, but there will of course be special appearences.
Pretty much every pro-wrestler, with the exception of a few, want to act, that is why they got into pro wrestling, really. It was the acting and show of athletic ability that made them want to do it, and that's what promotions like TNA and WWE look for.
So we will get to see many wrestling faces on the show in special appearance style, especially if they get Vince McMahon as an Executive Producer, which in my mind they need to really promote the show.
But what do you think, will the show be intersting to watch, or will it be just like watching RAW, Smackdown, or TNA Impact?
