WWE Elimination Chamber: Cases for Each Wrestler in the Smackdown Chamber
WWE's final pay-per-view before WrestleMania, Elimination Chamber, is now just days away. The event is being headlined by two Elimination Chamber Matches.
The first Chamber Match is to determine the number one contender for the WWE Championship, in other words, who will face the WWE Champion at WrestleMania.
The second Elimination Chamber Match is for the World Heavyweight Championship, featuring Edge, Dolph Ziggler, Drew McIntyre, Rey Mysterio, Kane and Wade Barrett.
In this slideshow we'll take a look at each participant in the Smackdown Elimination Chamber Match and make a case as to why they can walk out of Oakland the new World Heavyweight Champion.
Remember, each slide will be making a case as to why said superstar can win the match, so each slide will more-or-less contradict the last, try to read each slide as it's own, individual mini-article.
Edge

Edge is the defending Champion, or so it seems. We'll have to wait until Friday to see who walks into the Elimination Chamber the World Heavyweight Champion, as Vickie Guerrero may strip Edge of the title and present it to Dolph Ziggler.
Regardless of who walks into the Elimination Chamber as the World Heavyweight Champion, there is little doubt that Edge will be walking out with the belt.
For starters, they have already started building up to Edge vs. Alberto Del Rio for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania. Why have the weeks of buildup go to waste if at WrestleMania, Del Rio will be facing someone else?
You also have the fact that Edge is hands down the biggest star in this match. Sure, you have Kane and Rey Mysterio, but Edge is the obvious pick for a WrestleMania main event.
Dolph Ziggler

Depending on how the World Heavyweight Championship angle plays out on Smackdown, Dolph Ziggler may walk into Elimination Chamber the World Heavyweight Champion.
If WWE puts the title on Dolph on Friday, there is less of a chance he loses it two days later, on Sunday. 48-hour reigns are not exciting, insignificant, and take away from the prestige of a championship.
Simply put, should Dolph Ziggler get the World Heavyweight Championship on Friday, it would be a mistake to take it off of him on Sunday.
Drew McIntyre

I stated very clearly in the introduction slide that I would be making a case as to why each wrestler has a shot at winning.
That said, I cannot make a case for Drew McIntyre. He draws zero crowd reaction, has zero charisma, and, at that, isn't even that great in the ring.
He wouldn't be able to draw a "boo" from the "It's Still Real To Me, Dammit" guy if he did his botched-up-looking DDT finisher on The Rock and Hulk Hogan at the same time.
If Drew McIntyre's one fan happens to be reading, I am sorry to say, he will not be winning, there is no case for him.
Rey Mysterio

While Edge is the one guy in the match who stands out among the rest as a WrestleMania main eventer, Rey Mysterio is a top-guy in his own right and has main evented WrestleManias before. He even on the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 22.
You also have a pretty deep back-story to launch a storyline between Rey and Alberto Del Rio, which would make a WrestleMania match between the two very possible.
Kane
5 of 6
While Kane usually ends up in a not-very-high-profile mach at WrestleMania (unless it's against Undertaker), if that was every going to change, it would be this year.
Kane received a pretty substantial push in mid-2010, from an upper mid-carder, to Smackdown's top guy.
While his title reign mostly consisted on his storyline with The Undertaker (what else is new), he did prove that he still has some left in the tank. Enough for say... a WrestleMania main event.
Wade Barrett
6 of 6
Unless you've been living under a rock that doesn't get cable or internet, and you don't have access to a carrier pigeon to connect to the world, you know that Wade Barrett is currently a member of The Corre and previously was the leader of The Nexus.
Since Wade Barrett's WWE debut, he has been part of a stable. Given, he has always been the leader (although technically The Corre has no leader) of his stables, he never had a completely one-on-one feud.
Yes, he had a rivalry with John Cena, but even that stemmed from The Nexus, and completely revolved around that stable.
Over the past nine months, WWE has been building up Barrett and they will undoubtedly be launching him into a singles career soon.
This may the time for that. Wade Barrett wins the World Heavyweight Champion and goes to WrestleMania—as the singles wrestler he is being built-up to be.
