Despite A Heartbreak Loss, Brewers Fans Can Find Solace in Bats
The city of Milwaukee is in shambles after a heart-breaking loss in 12 innings yesterday against the NL leading Chicago Cubs. Just as things were looking up for the Brew Crew, Salomon Torres gave up a four run lead that allowed the Cubs to tie the game in the bottom of the 9th inning.
The Brewers ultimately lost in the bottom of the 12th on a walk-off single from Derrek Lee. Salomon Torres did let down Brewers fans all across that state of Wisconsin, however, the Brewers offense began to shed light on their offensive woes. During the last three games they have started to hit again and off of good pitching.

10 Scorching MLB Takes 🌶️

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
They managed to score two runs off of Cubs' ace Ryan Dempster, who is almost impossible to hit let alone score off of at home on Tuesday. Both of the runs scored off Dempster were complements of Prince Fielder, jacking one out of Wrigley and onto Sheffield Ave.
Later they also scored a run off of Carlos Marmol and Kerry Wood respectively, both of whom have been pitching well as of late. Despite that loss, the Brewers salvaged 11 hits.
Wednesday's game the Brew Crew pulled out with a win in Wrigley. Prince Fielder continued to stay hot with a bases clearing double in the top of the first to give the Brewers an early lead, which they wouldn't relinquish. They tacked on three more in the top of the 7th with a run scoring double from Hardy and two run hit from Hart. With that win, the Brewers accumulated 10 hits.
Now going back to yesterday's game. six runs on nine hits, another solid performance. This time it wasn't just Fielder getting hits and scoring runs but it was a team effort, which is good to see at this crucial point in a season.
All four runs scored in the top of the sixth came off of rookie Jeff Samardjia, who has been outstanding since he was called up in July.
You can expect Prince Fielder to be the player that may lead this Brewers ball club into the play-offs via the NL Wild Card. As for Ryan Braun, I wouldn't spend too much time stressing out about him. He has been excellent all year until as of late.
My point is that he has so much talent and that talent isn't going to just disappear and never come back. We all know that good players go through slumps and each player's time spent in the slump may differ but Ryan Braun knows what he has to do to produce and get out of his slump.
The Milwaukee Brewers still have time to win the NL Wild Card. They have a three game series starting today against the Cincinatti Reds. The Mets are 1 1/2 games up on the Brewers in the Wild Card but the Mets have had a difficult history with the Atlanta Braves at Turner Field, that series starts today.
The Philadelphia Phillies start a three game series today with the Florida Marlins, which will be a very exciting series for both teams. This makes the Brewers series with the Reds a crucial one. This is a must win series and if the Brewers fail it may be the end of their season.
