National Signing Day 2011: Savon Huggins Is The Best Of The Top Big East Commits

Danny FlynnJun 6, 2018

National Signing Day, which takes place Wednesday, Feb. 2nd, is inching ever closer, and that means the recruiting buzz and discussion has hit a fevered pitch.

Many of the country’s top college football recruits have already declared their future intentions and announced their college choices, giving fan bases around the nation a reason for anticipation and celebration.

Now all the young men have to do is validate their selections by signing on the dotted line of their official letters of intent on Wednesday.

While the Big East Conference isn’t necessarily known as a recruiting powerhouse, as the conference routinely finishes last among the six BCS conferences in recruiting rankings, all eight schools seem to pull in a few intriguing players every year.

This year is no different.

The conference’s two big winners for 2011 are Rutgers and Louisville, who each landed a handful of potential stars; most notably Rutgers, who landed the conference’s top recruit, highly regarded running back Savon Huggins out of St. Peters Prep in Jersey City, New Jersey.

Huggins isn’t the only big name with a bright future, though. There are a bunch of talented high school prospects that have the talent to become household names in the Big East rather quickly.

Let’s have a look at the 15 best players from the 2011 class who have already committed to a Big East school.
