National Signing Day 2011: Where Will Jadeveon Clowney Visit Next?
By now, you should have heard that the Jadeveon Clowney saga will not be ending on National Signing Day.
No, Clowney is not dragging his recruitment on to draw attention to himself, Clowney actually does not like media attention. He just is not sure yet what he wants to do and where he wants to play.
Many close to Clowney say he is a shy guy when it comes to media attention and he's such a nice kid that he doesn't want to tell anyone "no," which is why he is struggling with making a decision. He's narrowed his list down to a final six consisting of South Carolina, Alabama, LSU, Florida State, Clemson and North Carolina.
Clowney is in the process of taking his official visits, let's take a look at where he's been and where's headed next!
South Carolina
1 of 6
Clowney visited the Gamecocks on November 5th, as South Carolina's campus is just a short drive from his high school.
He's familiar with everything that involves the South Carolina program and geography is playing a role in his decision. You can surely bet the Steve Spurrier and his staff are really selling the point of staying home to play.
Clowney's high school is also a direct pipeline to South Carolina's campus and former South Pointe stars DeVonte Holloman and Stephen Gilmore are already there.
Alabama

The nation's top recruit trekked to Tuscaloosa January 14th and loves the business-like mentality of the Crimson Tide program. Nick Saban and Sal Sunseri are hot after Clowney and Saban's two national championship rings has some appeal to the defensive end.
Sunseri has sold the point of making Clowney his next Julius Peppers at Alabama, where Clowney would likely move to a more stand up outside linebacker role in the Tide's 3-4 scheme.
Alabama has a swagger about themselves, their work ethic and how they operate. Clowney really likes the idea of maybe taking care of business for Alabama.
Florida State

Clowney is fresh off a visit to Florida State, where, while he is the top overall recruit, his star shine was rivaled on the trip with Tony Steward, Tim Jernigan and Aundrey Walker also being just a few other big names who also went on the visit.
'Nole pledges Karlos Williams and James Wilder Jr. also were in Tallahassee to help lure recruits to join them.
Florida State is definitely a school of interest for Clowney, as he really likes assistant coach Odell Haggins and Jimbo Fisher. Florida State routinely puts out great defensive linemen and Clowney could be another in a long list.
Clemson

The Tigers are making noise in recruiting this year with commitments from Charone Peake, Mike Bellamy and Sammy Watkins. They are also a top two finalist for 5-star linebacker Tony Steward and in the hunt for 5-star defensive end Ray Drew.
Clowney's good friend, Lateek Townsend, is committed to Clemson and they are also close to home, which is why he will make the short trip to visit this weekend.
The Tigers lost defensive line coach Chris Rumph to Alabama, which was a crucial blow in their efforts to gain Clowney, yet the defensive end has a fond bond with defensive ends coach Marion Hobby. He will also get an up close meeting with Tiger defensive coordinator Kevin Steele this weekend.
North Carolina Or LSU Fighting For The Last Visit
5 of 6
Clowney hasn't decided whether he wants to use his fifth and final visit to see North Carolina or LSU. Ohio State and Florida are also schools that have a dark-horse chance at landing a visit.
North Carolina is also close to home and Clowney likes defensive line coach Brian Baker. A family member also played at UNC, so he is familiar with the UNC program.
LSU's tradition of preparing their defensive linemen for the NFL appeals to Clowney, and we all know the passionate fans and atmosphere at LSU home games is amazing. Both schools are still jockeying for position to secure the last visit from Clowney, which will come either February 4th or 11th.
When Will a Decision Be Made?

Right now, it looks like a decision date hasn't been announced, but one can expect to know where Clowney is signing by Valentine's Day.
He will take his visit to Clemson this weekend and either North Carolina or LSU next weekend, or maybe even not until February 11th.
After that, he will sit down with his family, friends and high school coaches and make a decision on where he will play college football. Some say not everything is worth the wait, but if you ask any of the final six schools Jadeveon Clowney is considering, they will gladly tell you he is.
