Is It Just Me? 10 Lingering Thoughts On The WWE
Good day, B/R. I thank you for the past article reads and comments because they have been just wonderful. Today, however, I bring to you a slideshow featuring many superstars of the WWE, as well as other aspects of the business.
I have some lingering thoughts here that I'd love to get into the open. There are many things I have a problem with in the WWE and there are others I'm just confused about. These thoughts include storyline ideas, questions and so much more. Take note that these are only SOME of my thoughts, and if I was to put all, there wouldn't be enough space. I hope we have in common what I have presented to you today, in terms of thoughts and ideas expressed.
Let's get underway, shall we?
1. Mark Henry
1 of 11
What is up with this guy? He's gone from jobber to unbeatable mid-carder to jobber to being the random tag-team guy—and he's failed at being entertaining in all of these decisions. Speaking of tag teams, why the hell are Santino and Kozlov even the champions? I'm not being mean here —I'm just calling it down the middle.
Don't you think that it's about time Mark Henry becomes a backstage official, something along the lines of a WWE coach for the younger talent? That's only my opinion, anyway.
2. John Cena
2 of 11
No, no, no. I am not hating on John Cena like many of you would expect. I don't have the typical "John Cena can't wrestle" argument here. He carries a match quite well, actually. Anyway, this is just a random thought here. Take a close look at the Raw Rebound every week...notice something? John Cena is mostly, if not always, the person being focused day in and day out. Really.
We know he's the face of the company, but this guy's the center of attention of weekly Raw Rebounds, and it doesn't make sense. I remember clearly that, on two occasions, something very important had happened at a Raw event. But was that incident the Raw Rebound? No, of course not! Why, it was John Cena once again.
This thought matches the idea that John Cena is also the last person on the Raw intro, and not the champion of the Raw Brand. I don't mind this, but if memory serves me correctly, they used to feature the champion of Raw as the last person in the intro... I'm just saying.
3. Nexus
3 of 11
Why do they have a beef with John Cena? I could never understand that...they don't ever put the spotlight on the other members aside from the leader. If they do, they're all forgotten about from the week after and onwards. Pathetic.
Why does this storyline make so little sense? I saw all the loopholes in the storyline involving the firing of John Cena...ridiculous, I say.
Oh yeah, and who could forget when Wade Barrett repeatedly put the fans on notice about the Nexus having "a much bigger picture" to be revealed? I waited, saw Wade kicked to the curb and kept on wondering what was really going on.
Perhaps there would be two Nexus factions; one lead by CM Punk and another lead by Wade Barrett. That would be awesome. Have Slater and Gabriel join Wade because of their dislike for Cm Punk's leadership qualities, and have a stable war similar to what occurred between The Nation and The Corporation. Nice.
4. The Others

Now, I did not forget about Skip Sheffield. Did you? I recently wrote an article about him, so you could feel free to check it out.

I also did not forget about Michael Tarver.
Where are these two men? I think they will return and, when they do, they would be opted to state where their allegiance lies. I'd have Sheffield side with CM Punk. Tarver? I'm not too sure.
5. Ted Dibiase Jr.
5 of 11
This is the man who aligned himself with the Viper, and one year later, take a look at him. His status in the WWE seems to be at a threat as he only suffers from terrible storylines and ends up being in a match involving light-hearted and comical individuals...and he always seems to lose to them. It's about time he ditches Maryse, because she's only keeping him back from greatness. Where is the guy who eliminated Orton form the Elimination Chamber in 2010? Now, that's a guy I'd love to see.
6. The Undertaker
6 of 11
I'm going to be the first man to say it: I don't mind if The Undertaker doesn't make it to Wrestlemania 27. Here's why: He missed it in the past, why not only one more? He's under a lot physical stress and I would only imagine that he places his health before anything else. He does that suicide dive all the time, only to damage himself more in the process.
Looking back at his last several Wrestlemania matches, can you really blame him? He's had a good run year after year, and taking a break won't hurt his credentials. Allow me to start from Wrestlemania 23, where he began his roll in what a streak should really look like.
At Wrestlemania 23, he faced Batista for the World Heavyweight Championship. At Wrestlemania 24, he won the same championship form Edge. At Wrestlemania 25 and 26 he successively was challenged by Shawn Michaels, and he defeated him on these two separate occasions. That alone should keep the streak strong for quite a while, don't you think?
On the flip side, I realize that he's got two more years on his contract...or so I think. I always imagined that he'd win this year, then at Wrestlemania 28 he'd have his final match—in which in would win. These two wins would allow him to go 20-0 in his streak and he would be able to retire there. Two decades of destruction, indeed.
7. Superstars
7 of 11
I respect this weekly show of the WWE. I believe it gives the younger guys some of the spotlight. I dislike some of the main events from time to time, but I'd give the show a thumbs-up on the overall concept and the work done on it. However, were there not main-event superstars working for this show?
Don't get me wrong here; I love seeing the mid-carders at work here, but if memory serves me correctly I believe that the first ever main event of Superstars was Matt Hardy facing off against The Undertaker. I could clearly remember that on an edition of Superstars, Chris Jericho faced off against John Morrison and another had Kane vs Chris Jericho.
My point is that WWE should try putting a little more star power into the weekly show? I don't need to see the main-eventers take the spotlight and place it onto themselves...have an end-of-the-month special or something like that involving top-notch mid-carders of some sort. Just give the show something that compels the viewer to keep on watching, that's all.
For the record, I want to mention that I enjoy Superstars more than Raw on some occasions. There's always one thing it has over Raw, and that is the amount of time the actual wrestling is given. It's true!
8. Shawn Michaels
8 of 11
Wow! Shawn Michaels is expected to be inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame exactly one year after his retirement? That's got to be a record for the quickest induction decision ever! What can I say? He did the WWE wonders.
9. Wrestlemania 27
9 of 11
The "Grandest Stage of Them All" doesn't seem like it's going to be that grand this year...or is it? Well, here are my thoughts on why I question its reputation for 2011.
First of all, we are not sure if The Undertaker will make his return to the event this year. If so, will it be against Kane? If he does return, I highly doubt they'd make Kane vs The Undertaker III occur at Wrestlemenia. Instead, I believe he may return to cost Kane his chance at the World Heavyweight Championship at Elimination Chamber and challenge him to some stipulation match at a Smackdown event prior to Wrestlemania. Keep in mind, it's not a sure thing at this point in time for his return. So there we go: The Undertaker is not sure to be here.
Secondly, are you telling me that Triple H might make his return to face off against Sheamus for the second time in a row at a Wrestlemania? Not to mention that this rivalry would be met full circle since the feud basically stopped after Wrestlemania. Wow. If The Undertaker doesn't make it, that's two main event players gone.
John Cena. That's my third point. He's going to be the main event. Obviously! Maybe him and Orton could have a match, but I believe we've seen one too many of their matches in the past. Somehow, I know he's going to main-event Wrestlemania once more—and I can't see Orton in mid-card action the second one in a row. I believe they'll clash once more, folks.
Please tell me that there won't be a Money In The Bank Ladder Match this year; I'm sick of those things. Always overrated, always the same thing over and over. With a pay-per-view event to feature two of these matches, why would you even consider a third one? I would place a U.S. Championship and an Intercontinental Championship title-defense on the Wrestlemania card. They are long overdue.
My fifth point is one of the most obvious ones: No Shawn Michaels. I know, right?
The sixth and final point involves one of the only persons, in my opinion, who can single-handedly save Wrestlemania 27 in some little way: Chris Jericho. Please, Save_Us. Please return and be the first heel to actually own Randy Orton.
Hopefully, actual wrestling and good fast-paced matches can save the event from being a total disaster.
10. The Great Khali

Please, I beg of you: DON'T RETURN.
The End
