Stanford Cardinal Could Be 2011 National Champions
As I watched tonight's Orange bowl game, a couple of things were going through my mind. The first one was that a college head coach is the hottest coach on the market in the NFL. The second thing that came to my mind was that Andrew Luck was playing possibly his last game in college.
The third thing was that Virginia Tech looked like the team that lost to James Madison earlier in the year. And the fourth and final thing was Harbaugh and Luck equal BCS champs of 2011-12 season if both return.
Tonight everyone saw the passion that they both had on the field. Harbaugh looked like he was having so much fun out there, not even really showing any anger when the offensive lineman caught the ball in his own end zone (which happened to be hysterical).
He looked like he didn't want to leave it didn't look like it was his last game on the college sideline. But then again with about three or four teams interested and two of them (Denver and the Niners) pushing hard to get him, you never know what he will decide to do.
I honestly believe he realizes that he cant win with Denver and maybe he takes the 49er job because the NFC west is horrific. I do honestly believe that Jim Harbaugh will be back at Stanford next season...IF Andrew Luck decided to come back.
Now on to Luck, in about 99 percent of mock drafts for this April's draft, Luck is being selected No. 1 to the Carolina Panthers, with no coach, an organization that has not signed a free agent in years, a front office that is horrible and a team who looked like they wanted to take the season off.
Granted Jimmy Clausen looked worthy of not being a first round pick having the worst QB rating. I have a feeling if Luck does come out and go pro, then he will pull an Eli Manning and say don't draft me I WILL NOT PLAY!. Then things get interesting as to which teams can trade up, my best bet is...Washington OR JIM HARBAUGH AND THE NINERS! who most likely will not have Alex Smith back. But tonight Luck was awesome, throwing for 287 yards and four tds, what a game and with there star running back Stepfan Taylor coming back then they could really be a force, especially in a pretty week Pac-10. But with the lockout coming who knows if Luck will pass up the money.
I believe if Luck stays Harbaugh stays. If Luck goes Harbaugh goes.
I don't think either of them believe they can win without each other, and that is probably true. BUT I BELIEVE IF THEY BOTH RETURN THE STANFORD CARDINALS WILL WIN THE BCS NATIONAL TITLE NEXT YEAR, with Luck being the Heisman Trophy Winner.
