Reality Check Volume 1: The Internet Darlings
Amongst the Internet Wrestling Community there seems to be certain views on certain superstars, both good and bad, that seems to be shared by a proportion of the community, both good and bad.
Here's a few of my opinions on some of these figures and how they can improve, so please let me know what you think.
Also since a lot of you panned my last article in a less than savoury manner you can just keep your opinions to yourself if you have nothing to say politely. Constructive criticism appreciated, and let me know if you want a second part to follow.
Daniel Bryan
1 of 2
First things first, I would just like to say that the first few seconds of Daniel Bryan's "Rage" theme was absolutely brilliant. Even more brilliantly is his in ring work—having not seen his indie work I was led to believe that he was something of a demigod in the ring. But, so far he has consistently impressed in all of his matches and has restored prestige to the United States Championship during his matches with the Miz and Ted DiBiase.
On the other hand, he has a very dry personality and needs to work on developing his character if he wants to break into the main event. If he does so, expect to see many more title belts around the waist of the "American Dragon".
How to improve: Get new ring attire, new entrance music and show off his much vaunted ROH offense to become this generation's Bret Hart—average mic skills with amazing technical ability.
Christian
2 of 2
The instant classic, Christian is one of the most experienced and likeable wrestlers on the entire WWE roster and it is a sin that he has not yet held a world championship in the company.
A workhorse veteran, Christian has proved his worth in a variety of matches from pioneering TLC as part of a legendary tag team, to helping keep the sinking ECW brand watchable as it failed completely.
If his lack of a push is down to his tenure in TNA, shouldn't Vince question why he went there in the first place? Captain charisma is a veteran who is significantly over with the fans and the stage is set for him to lift the World Heavyweight Championship high, returning to the showcase of the immortals with Edge as champion to finally reach the heights he deserves.
How to improve: Less attempts at cheesy humour (other than the five second pose), bring back the old version of "Just Close Your Eyes" which along with his TNA theme is the best entrance song ever and bring back the hoodie and backwards entrance.
