Yoosof Farah's Top 5 EPL Goals: Matchday 3
Here are my top five goals from the third matchday of the Barclay's English Premier League:
5) West Ham - Craig Bellamy
The Welshman got West Ham's third in a 4-1 win over Blackburn Rovers,ย when he nettedย the firstย of twoย stoppage time goals for the Hammers.

Bellamy beat the offside trap when a long ball was played through to him, and after waiting for two bounces, he smashed home a volley fromย just inside the areaย to make sure West Ham would wrap up a win.
4) Jermain Defoe - Portsmouth
After opening the scoring for Pompey on 12 minutes, the England international got his second and Portsmouth's third on 69 minutes. Sean Davis found Defoe on the edge of the area, and afterย seeing Evertonย Tim Howard off his line,ย Defoe chipped the ball over the goalkeeper and in off the crossbar.
The ballย rebounded back out following Defoe's chip, and Peter Crouch headed to make sureย it was in, but TV replays suggest it was Defoe who would claim a brilliant goal, after it initially crossed the line before rebounding back out.
3) Antonio Valencia - Wigan Athletic
The Ecuadorian international scored Wigan's second goal in a 5-0 routย against Hull City. After being played through in his own half by Egyptian Amr Zaki, Valencia made Hull regret taking so many forward for a corner, by racing all the way into theย Hull penalty boxโbreezing pastย three Hull players in the processโbefore slotting coolly past keeper Boaz Myhill.
2) Amr Zaki - Wigan Athletic
The Egyptian forward quite fittingly capped off a great game for both himself and Wigan Athletic with a superb goal.
After receiving the ball just inside the Hull City area, Zaki unleashed an unstoppable smashingย shot that crashed in off the crossbar, giving Wigan a superb 5-0 victory, and sending Hull crashing back to Premier League reality.
1) Afonso Alves - Middlesbrough
The prolific Brazilian has now started to show fans thatย what he did for Heerenveen, he can do for Middlesbrough.
And at home to Stoke, he did it fantastically. After winning a free-kick following a cynical foul from Amdy Faye, Alves showed he was worth his hefty transfer fee with a touch of Brazilian magic.
From 25-yards out, he caressed a right-foot shot that lifted over the wall and swerved into the top right corner.ย It was aย moment of pure magic from the Brazilian, and one that left Stoke keeper Thomas Sorensen motionless, asย he watched onย in amazement.
What do you think? Do you agree or disagree with my top five goals? Is there any other goalsย which you would like to see in the top five? As always, please feel free to leave a comment.
