Andrew 'Martie' CarlsonNov 24, 2010

Ever been to Senior Day and wished you knew a little more about the Huskers being announced as playing their last game as a Husker at home? Then this is for you, it isn't everything but it is everyone I could find. Best of luck, Husker seniors!

Pierre Allen, welcome the Senior Day Colorado native. I am sure you have looked forward to this game all season long and I know you're a leader of our team, not everybody is selected as team captain for the first game of the season. It's been a pleasure watching you play and hope for the best in the future.

Prince Amukamara, thank you for playing for us here at Nebraska. Quite a distance from your hometown in Glendale Arizona, but your next job may be playing for the Arizona Cardinals. Looking at your list of first and second team honors there is no doubt that an opportunity to play in the NFL awaits you, we'll soon know that team. I hear that you're great with kids and people in general, that you are a honorable individual and a great ambassador for Nebraska. You will be missed.

Joe Broekemeier, thank you for being a part of the Nebraska Cornhuskers football team and multiple time commissioners honor roll award winner. As an Aurora native, you display what is the heart of Husker football, someone who loves the team so much and is so much work with little notoriety. May there continue to be many more just like you.

Tyrone Fahie, thank you for being a part of the Nebraska Cornhuskers. It is a great honor to have a man who gave six years of his life in service of his country come to play at Nebraska. Commissioner's honor roll award winner, we are honored to have had you a part of our community and hope you stay. We need more people like you in Nebraska.

DeJon Gomes, as a member probably the best secondary in the country, we couldn't have done without you. Extremely glad that you were able to find your way to Nebraska from California, don't be a stranger, we will welcome you back anytime. I am especially sorry that this is your last year of eligibility, I have begun to enjoy watching you play.

Thomas Grove, enjoy your last day as a player on the field at Memorial Stadium Arlington Nebraska native and walk-on player. Like the many walk-ons before you, you keep the heart of Nebraska football alive. A true Nebraskan through and through, I'll be watching you a special teams, I'm sure you'll never let us down.

Eric Hagg, another Arizona native that I like to thank for making a choice to play school so far away from home. A member of the commissioners fall academic honor roll and hard-nosed player, I look forward to seeing your last day at Memorial Stadium. I see great things in your future, thank you again.

Roy Helu, Jr., in a school that has run the football almost religiously for 50 years, to walk away with the most prestigious of all Husker records is a great accomplishment. The world noticed you that day, we have known you had the potential to do it from day one. Great things are in your future but we hope that you will continue to be a great ambassador for Husker football. Thank You.

Alex Henery, our placekicker and Omaha native. When a kicker has as many awards in the Big 12 as you do you, they have to be something special. To us you are a husker, that is what makes you special to us. Now kick the ball through the goalposts at Memorial Stadium one last time.

Ricky Henry, from Burke high school in Omaha Nebraska, a member of the most important part of the offense and the reason why are running backs have as much room as they need. Offensive lineman never get the accolades for all the work they do, enjoy your last moments in Memorial Stadium, we will applaud you this day.

Will Henry, Texas native and member of the receiving corps, you have done everything you can to make Nebraska better team over the past five years. We are a better team in part due to the work you have produced. Thank you for leaving Texas in helping the Huskers on a path back to dominance.

D.J. Jones, another Nebraska native from Central High School in Omaha. The path to dominance begins with the offensive line, and the homegrown great players that have played there over the years. We have special respect and admiration of our homegrown Huskers. Enjoy your final day of Memorial Stadium, may it be a memorable one.

Adi Kunalic, another Texas native, a surefire reason why our opponents always start from 20 yard line. Honor roll member and good citizen, thank you again.

Zac Lee, California native who showed the greatest integrity of all. There is so many paths you could've taken at the beginning of the year but you are able to choose the right one. That shows the integrity and honor that we expect from a Husker, you epitomize that integrity and honor.

Mike McNeill, Missouri native and season record holder for receptions by a tight end. Longest reception was against Colorado, most yards gained in a game was against Colorado. Looking forward to more of the same in your last game as a husker at Memorial Stadium.

Niles Paul, Omaha native and Husker forever. You have had some tough criticism from many different angles, but what they never say is that you worked hard every down. There is nothing more that we could ask. I respect you and I applaud you. I am looking for great things in your future.

Mike Smith, Las Vegas native playing what I consider to be the toughest position in football, has been on the left side of the line for four years, three as a starter. He has put the power back in the Nebraska power running game. We all need to show our appreciation. Thank you, Mike.

Rickey Thenarse, from LA, is the secondary's enforcer on defense. He has always hit hard and continues to do so making the defensive backfield one of the most feared in football. Is the NFL in his future? I don't know, but I do know that this fine young man will be missed on Saturdays in Lincoln. Best of luck, Rickey.

Latravis Washington from Florida. If anything can be said about Latravis it would be that he is a hard worker and a team player. Willing to do anything needed for the team, Latravis may be from Florida but he is all Husker.

Adam Watson, rumor has it he went to high school in Colorado. True or not, he lives in Nebraska and is all Husker. This is the unsung hero of the team. Like many before him, he does all the work to prepare for a game but has not seen the field on game day more than a few times. It is because of Adam and others like him that the Huskers have has so much success. Thank you, Adam

Anthony West made the trip from San Diego to play football at Nebraska. A solid performer on the field and off, Nebraska fans should appreciate Anthony and his dedication to the Huskers. Husker fans would love to see more like him come to Nebraska from California. Best of luck, Anthony.

Keith Williams, from Missouri. If I told you that a player was a three-year starter for the Huskers on the offensive line would that be enough to tell you that this is a special player. I don't, Keith is much more. Watch him destroy the player across the ball on any running play and you will see what I mean. Thank you for coming to Nebraska, Keith.

Dreu Young, from Cozad Nebraska, a tight end who is living the dream of any 12-year-old small town Nebraska boy. He gets to block, catch and run with the ball for the Huskers. Cozad is like any small town in Nebraska but Dreu is part of the reason why the heart of the Huskers is still in the small towns. We honor you, Dreu. Thanks.
