Reality Check: The WWE Creative Team Needs to Get Rid Of The Anonymous RAW GM
I know this has been done before, and I'm sure some of you are rolling your eyes at seeing another article like this, but almost every episode of RAW: "May I have your attention, please. I have received an e-mail from the anonymous RAW General Manager. And I quote..," we dealt with for almost a year now. *Notification chime x2*.
I can't even listen to that chime from other people's cellphones without thinking about Michael Cole's dialogue. I couldn't care less for his involvement in any of the storylines, I grew more and more sick of his appearances and tenure...through a laptop.

At first, the anonymous, RAW GM bit seemed interesting; you had so many fans in anticipatory ponder, thinking that the GM was The Rock, Steve Austin, or Triple H and there was the thought that the GM would heat things up on RAW by abusing his authority.
But, soon enough, it grew cold. It become so monotonous, Edge breaking the laptop wasn't even enough for me. And the fans? Oh, man, the fans made it worse. Constantly, I heard, "The RAW GM is HBK," "The RAW GM is Jonathan Coachman," "The RAW GM is Mike Adamle," "The RAW GM is The Rock," "The RAW GM is Batista," "Who is the RAW GM?"
The thing is, the WWE wanted to perpetuate this for some amount of time. Why? It's not just because they saw it as a great idea, it's because they don't know who the General Manager of RAW is!
Here you are, a multi-billion dollar company that can't even come up with a legitimate, fictional, authority figure. We've waited, and waited, and waited, but has the GM been revealed? NO!
They continued this storyline just because, with all the time they had, the creative team could not come up with a person.
Now, the worst part about this is we haven't heard from the anon, GM for a little while. This should tell you that because of the attention giving to the current feud on RAW (Cena/Orton/Nexus), the WWE Creative team took that bit and threw it in the closet, "Yeah, we'll deal with it later."
They had a handful of people who could've fit the bill, yet they chose to just discard it, only to pick it up from time to time.
Vickie Guerrero could've made a great General Manager, but they wanted to continue the whole "Official Consultant to Smackdown" thing. What kind of creative team starts something they can't even finish?
I would've been comfortable to see Hornswoggle, yes, Hornswoggle, to be revealed as the RAW GM, just as long as the WWE didn't continue this gimmick anymore. The ironic part about this shenanigan is the anonymous GM inadvertently represents the creative team's practices: They e-mail the contents of their writing to Vince, who accepts whatever ideas they have to offer, and we're forced (just as the wrestlers are forced to deal with the GM's order) to see it on our screens... Awesome.
Do we really need negligent writers in WWE?
Thank you for reading.
