Miz "Awesome" In Winning First WWE Championship On Raw
He finally did what Michael Cole and the rest of his fans have been wanting him to do ever since he lost the United States Championship to Daniel Bryan.
The Miz, up until now Mr. Money in The Bank, finally cashed it in against an injured Randy Orton to win his first WWE Championship.
We remember young Mike Mizanin as the native of the Cleveland suburb of Parma, Ohio who joined the cast of "The Real World" back in 2000 stating his dream of being a professional wrestler. While usually he usually possessed the qualities of a modest kid from the Midwest, it was through his alter-ego, The Miz, where he became a headstrong, combative and aggressive individual.

Even in a show about what happens when people stop being polite and start being "real," Miz knew how to work not only the audience, but also his castmates.
This would continue throughout the Real World/Road Rules Challenge, where the switch between Mike from Ohio and The Miz would become permanently stuck on Miz Mode, leading him to making it to the end of each RW/RR Challenge he'd participate in except for Battle of The Sexes 2.
From there Miz pursued his dreams, participating in Tough Enough Season 4. Despite finishing second, he still got an invite to developmental territory OVW, where he would finally work his was up to the main WWE roster in 2006.
His ring work was lacking, which you could say it still is, but Miz had the charisma to pull it off. His career got hooked to the juvenation machine in 2007 when he was paired with John Morrison on ECW with whom he held the WWE tag team title once, followed by a stint with the World Tag Team Title.
What mainly put them over the top was their "Dirt Sheet," an online show which consisted of the two ragging on pop culture and the WWE and fellow WWE Superstars.
After breaking up in 2009, The Miz would go to Raw while Morrison would wind up on Smackdown.
Miz would later win but never defend the United States title, losing it to R-Truth in May of 2010 before regaining it, then losing it against his former NXT rookie Daniel Bryan in October. He also won Raw's Money In The Bank and gained a lackey in his Season 2 NXT rookie Alex Riley. He also gained a huge fan in Michael Cole.
All of this culminated into tonight, when he defeated Orton for the WWE Title.
Now, I know a lot of you might not like this, but I'm a Miami Heat fan. As you know, things aren't going too well with the team, and because of that, I'm starting to think a bit that maybe Dan Gilbert really did curse the team and even the city's sports scene.
However, Gilbert did say this: "But the good news is that this heartless and callous action can only serve as the antidote to the so-called 'curse' on Cleveland, Ohio.
"The self-declared former 'King' will be taking the 'curse' with him down south. And until he does 'right' by Cleveland and Ohio, James (and the town where he plays) will unfortunately own this dreaded spell and bad karma."
Well Gilbert, how does Cleveland's own Miz winning the WWE Title one night after the biggest star in the WWE is "fired" factor into all of this? Maybe I'm just grasping for straws and denying the fact that The Heat can't stop elite point guards, don't have any size down low and LeBron might just be a tad overrated, but, does this end the curse?
I'd like to hope so, for if that were the case, consider me the biggest mark for The Miz.
And to The Miz: Congratulations! Hope its a long and successful title run and that they don't book you like Mysterio.
