WWE Survivor Series Hits and Misses
Creatures of the Night.
We saw it all tonight.
From four star matches to the broken hearts of WWE Fans. Survivor Series was an overall great PPV. Personally, I apologize for my initial response to Management's handling of the event. They proved me wrong at some parts and other parts, they didn't.
Overall, WWE surprised me in every single match.
Clap Clap, Bravo Creative.
Since all the controversy surrounding SS is still in the air, I'm going to emphasize the matches and their endings. I'm going to give my personal opinion on each.
Trying to make this intro short. Read on...
Hit: Daniel Bryan and Teddy DiBiase Have a Watchable Match
1 of 6
Where to begin. My initial response to this match was negative. Ted and Bryan were like ghosts to each other before a match on RAW a few weeks back. After another Bryan win, Ted continued his fiasco with Goldust while Bryan continued his run.
When Teddy attacked Bryan Monday, I was surprised.
He showed this mean streak. Since Wrestlemania, I haven't been able to take DiBiase seriously? Know why? Because Creative had him using his dad's gimmick. Here I was thinking this guy has so much potential but he is stuck using a washed-up gimmick from the '80s.
When Ted told Ted Sr. that he didn't want the Million Dollar title back, I was relieved.
Ted's taking baby steps towards his own independence. Power to you.
Now the match itself was a last minute add-on. Since Bryan is almost perfect in the ring, I expected a great match for him. Ted showed me another side of him tonight.
He's finally on the right track, though he lost.
Expect this feud to continue.
HIT: Morrison Defeats Sheamus
2 of 6
Yes! Finally! For God sakes finally!
Sorry if I'm a little over enthusiastic but I enjoyed this match.
From the start, I told most of the B/R Writers that it was time. Time for Morrison to rise up from the mid cards. Time for him to be considered as a legitimate WWE Superstar. When Morrison first became involved Sheamus after Bragging Rights, I saw the beginning.
The Winds of Change were beginning to blow.
After numerous weeks of beating Sheamus at every turn, He challenged Sheamus to a match at Survivor Series. It was absolutely great! What got me more pumped up was Sheamus promo before it. He called Morrison jealous. He said he would never be WWE Champion.
Honestly, he sounded like the Morrison critics on the B/R.
Going into the match, I would've been ecstatic for a win or loss for Jomo but after his comments, I hoped for a win by the Shaman. Sheamus battered Morrison for the better part of the match.
Morrison showed off his flashy moveset throughout the match. Even adding a few moves to his arsenal.
I figured Sheamus would get frustrated towards the end. With a full head of steam, Sheamus attempted a Brogue Kick but was caught in the ropes. A quick Flying Chuck and Running Knee later, Morrison earned the biggest win of his career!
I see big things in Morrison's future! Hopefully.
Miss: Dolph Defeats Kaval by Tights
3 of 6
Hear me out Creatures.
In my predictions, I correctly predicted Ziggler would beat Kaval. But that was before I saw the match. Before I witnessed Kaval's performance.
When Kaval defeated Ziggler on Smackdown! I was happy. I was glad to see Kaval finally out of the jobber status. Lets face it, Kaval had been a an "official" WWE Superstar for months and was on a losing streak.
Failing in comparison to Season One NXT Winner, Wade Barrett.
Dolph's reign as IC Champion is indeed "boring". I like Ziggler. He's a great Champion. So I expected him to pull it out by cheating. But a match that was so good, got a horrible ending. Kaval came into this match an Underdog. He did some of the most amazing things I've ever seen.
One spot where he converted the Warrior's Way into the Phoenix Splash where he landed on his feet. Amazing, people. As good as Dolph is, Kaval showed everyone why he is BETTER.
After multiple close pinfalls and Dolph's inability to put Kaval away with the sleeper, I changed my mind about the ending. Kaval was leaving the IC Champion.
In the end, Ziggler got the win. During an amazing pin attempt by Kaval, with a handful of tights. Cheapening a great match between the two. I couldn't decide if this was a hit or miss. But ultimately because of the ending, it's a miss.
Funny thing is Ziggler said he would carry Kaval to a good match. Ha, I don't think so...
Your opinions?
MISS: Edge Wins..... No Wait It Was a Draw
4 of 6
Creatures, I didn't give Edge a chance. Kane has been utterly dominant since becoming the World Champion. Edge was on a roll on Smackdown! A great return and multiple wins afterwards. When he finally turned his attention towards the World Title, it excited me.
Know why? Because Edge has never been a World Champion as a face.
It would be interesting to say the least.
Edge has beaten Kane at every turn. Even kidnapping Paul Bearer. For the first time ever, Kane was beside himself. He wasn't in control. He didn't have Paul Bearer helping him. All of this still wouldn't convince me of Edge winning tonight.
Sadly, I was right.
The match itself was decent. Back and forth action by both. Edge had some great spots throughout. More specifically, Edge did some moves I haven't seen him use in years!
Like the Kaval, I changed my prediction during the match. I believed Edge was going to win the World Title. My opinion was cemented when Edge kicked out of the Chokeslam. My eyes were locked on my screen.
Watching Kane mocking the Undertaker, it backfired after he got the SPEAR!!
Edge immediately fell beside Kane with his arm laid across him. First thing that caught my attention, Edge's shoulders were down with Kane's. It was a draw.
OMG, are you kidding me? I would've been happier if Bearer would have cheated for Kane. But a draw! Not a good way to end the match, WWE.
I got some comic relief afterwards. Seeing Kane run through a barricade sure lightens my spirits.
Miss: Main Event Goes On Without a Hitch.

Besides Morrison, the only reason I was interested in Survivor Series was the WWE Title match. Attempting to unfold the ending. Unsurprisingly, I predicted it wrong. By a mile.
From the beginning of the PPV, the questions were John Cena really going to be fired? Would he turn on Orton? Was the Miz going to cash in the MITB??
Questions I attempted to answer. Ending with an EPIC Fail. Leading up to this match, John Cena was the talk of the WWE Universe. Not for one second did anyone consider Randy Orton would walk out the WWE Champion.
I sure didn't.
Wade Barrett was already the WWE Champ in my mind. But when Cena said he would beat the hell out of Barrett afterwards, a new possibility came to light. With Barrett incapacitated, the odds "awesomely" favored a certain WWE Superstar.
The Miz.
Would he cash it in? Yes, I thought he would.
The match started off really slow. Simple moves by Orton here and there. Barrett edged Orton out an offense during the early portions of it. Randy battles back and begins his lethal combination of moves. Both have small confrontations with Cena throughout.
In the end, Barrett's constant provoking of Cena finally got to him. He shoved Barrett into an RKO and counted the three.
The crowd was shocked. So was Randy Orton. Before Cena could administer his promised beatdown, Nexus attempted to attack but was held of by Cena and Viper.
Basically proving Cena's word were a ploy by WWE to make us think Miz was going to cash in.
After a hug with Orton and giving him his WWE Title, Cena made controversial exit. Walking through the crowd, hugging Michael Cole and a Cameraman. Selling his departure.
Wasn't the way I wanted it to happen. It was a horrible end to an highly anticipated encounter.

Nexus vs Santino and Kozlov
This was a miss when it was announced. I respect Santino and Vladimir as performers but they're merely comic relief. Tonight proved me right. They gave away the ending before it even started.
Every single member of Nexus accompanied Gabriel and Slater to the ring. Weak. Nexus dominated the majority of the match and even the Cobra failed. Santino fell to the zig...Sweetness....
MISS!!
Natalya vs LayCool
Short and sweet. How I like the Diva's Division nowadays. Natalya's third title opportunity. Third match between them at the third straight PPV. Because of LayCool's legitimate heat from the crowd, I didn't see the title changing hands any time soon.
I personally wanted Nattie to win. The majority of this match took place outside the ring. Natalya inflicted damage to both members before making her way back inside the ring.
After using Michelle to take out Layla, Nattie strapped on the Sharpshooter, cementing her status at the top when McCool tapped out. The attempt at an post match beatdown was thwarted by Beth Phoenix. The celebration was nice, too. Beth's return was a plus.
HIT!!!! Flawless!
Team Rey vs Team Del Rio
I really don't have anything to say about this match. Because it was a last minute add on, there was no legitimate hype to this match. Besides the battle royal on Smackdown! it wasn't given any type of promotion.
What surprised me was that MVP was the first to be eliminated. In his hometown. Where got a HUGE pop.
Another foolish spot in the match is where Del Rio got knocked out. He wasn't the legal man so he should continue on, right? Nope.
In the end, Rey and Big Show were the only two left and they finished just how I predicted.
MISS.
