NFL, The Greatest Magic Act On Earth: Why Vick Will Struggle This Week
You have probably seen a magician at some point; the cards tricks, sawing people in half, pulling quarters out of ears and more. Some find it entertaining. Magic comes down to element: You are shown one thing and then a different thing happens; you draw the Queen of Diamonds, and then all of a sudden you’re holding the Ace of Spades.
This NFL season has been a magic act from Week 1. Everything expected to happen, didn't.
Andy Reid has people believing that Kevin Kolb was the next great QB of the NFL. That was until he got hurt and Michael Vick made us all forget that he was just a Wildcat formation QB very quickly.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Terrell Owens and Chad Ochocinco had us believing that they would have a powerful offense in Cincinnati as Batman and Robin. They even started out 2-1, now they are currently on a six game losing streak. Turns out, they were the George Clooney and Chris O’Donnell version.
A lot of people were picking the Green Bay Packers to win the NFC conference this year. But after a very slow start everyone wrote them off; too many injuries, no running game and they’re just not ready. Just when they had us all believing they were done, they reel off three straight and look like Super Bowl contenders again.
How many people are still starting Javid Best every week hoping he shows us all the magic he did in the first two weeks of the season? Yet he is still tricking us all. I know you want to play him so you don’t miss out on his next huge game, but it’s time to let go.
The Cowboys had us all believing that they were Super Bowl contenders, but it took us six weeks to realize that they weren’t any good.
Brad Childress is dressing up with the Vikings gear, clipboard, headset and all, “tricking us” that he is actually a football coach or that he has any idea of what he is doing.
There is no real explanation for how teams play week to week. A team will look like world champions one week, and then look like the Bills the next.
In Week 3, the Tennessee Titans went into New York and dismantled the Giants, then went home to play the Denver Broncos and lose.
The Raiders played the previously win-less San Francisco 49ers and really couldn’t move the ball across the 50-yard line, giving the Niners their first victory.
Then the next week the Raiders go into Denver and win 59-14. Um, what?
Everything we are shown the previous week, it’s almost the exact opposite the next week.
After eight weeks into the NFL Season, a lot of people were looking for a team to crown as “the best team in the league”.
The Patriots had the best record in the league so they were the logical choice. They had the Cleveland Browns next up on the schedule and, no way they could lose to them, right? They lost, and now would have to go and face the Steelers in Pittsburgh the next week.
After the beating they received in Cleveland, there was no way they could then go into Pittsburgh and even contend with the Steelers right? Yet, the Patriots manhandled them.
How does this make sense? It’s almost like the NFL is doing it on purpose. This was all after the Browns as 14-point underdogs went into New Orleans and beat the defending champs. Oh, and the next week, the Saints took out the Steelers.
And, this was all after the Steelers beat the Browns by 18 the week prior. This all makes sense, right?
Now people are calling Vick the best QB in the league after his performance on Monday night. I say not so fast.
Does he look like an elite QB? Sure, but everything is being setup for him to have a bad game. He is coming off a great game, and now being anointed the best QB or even a top 5 QB in the league (a lot like the Patriots were anointed a few weeks ago), Vick and the Eagles are playing against the Giants.
They were anointed the best team in the NFC a week ago, just before they went out and lost badly to the Dallas Cowboys.
At home no less.
After watching both the Giants and Eagles last week, you’d have to pick the Eagles right? It wouldn’t even be close. I
It also looks like there is no way of stopping Michael Vick either, but as we’ve seen, looks can be deceiving.
Unlike the magician’s tricks, I don’t know how this is all working, but it certainly makes for an exciting NFL season.
