The Last Unbeaten: How Long Will The New Orleans Hornets Stay Undefeated?
Surprising enough, we would have thought that the Lakers would be the last team undefeated in the NBA through two weeks.
Or maybe the Heat, with LeBron and Wade. Or maybe the defending Eastern Conference champion Celtics. Or maybe Dwight Howard and the Magic.
Nope.
The last team undefeated is not the Lakers, Heat, Celtics, or Magic. Or the Blazers, Mavericks, or Bulls. Or the Knicks, Nets, Raptors, 76ers, Cavaliers, Pistons, Pacers, Bucks, Hawks, Bobcats, Wizards, Clippers, Suns, Kings, Warriors, Thunder, Grizzlies, Jazz, Nuggets, Timberwolves, Rockets, or Spurs.
It's the New Orleans Hornets. You know, the team with Chris Paul and his surrounding rumors about leaving New Orleans in two years in free agency or in a year with a trade.
With new coach Monty Williams (who?), the Hornets have jumped out to a surprising start. Through the first 8 games, the Hornets have played Carmelo Anthony and the Nuggets, and beaten them.
They played the Spurs in San Antonio, and beat them. And they played the Heat, and beat it. They have also played the Bucks twice, Rockets, Clippers, and Trail Blazers.
So people are wondering: When will the Hornets lose? We know they won't go undefeated. So people want to look at their schedule to see what teams they have to face in the next week or so. So I will help you not waste your time and check here.
In the next week, they have the Mavericks in a home-and-home, and they play the Cavaliers at home. The toughest one will be the game in Dallas. They will win at home against the Mavericks and Cleveland.
Then after that, in the next week, they have a four-game road trip in Sacramento, Los Angeles (Clippers), Utah and Portland. They will beat the Kings and Clippers. But then they have to face the Jazz and Trail Blazers. Bye-bye undefeated season.
But, if they can hang on and become 15-0,(wow), the next week they have the Spurs at home, Thunder on the road, and two home games against the Bobcats, and Knicks. They will probably lose against the Thunder on the road, so that will make them 16-1.
In games the week after, the Hornets have to face the Spurs, Pistons, and Thunder. And after that they play the 76ers, Heat, Kings, and Jazz. But they won't be undefeated at this point so it doesn't matter.
So the Hornets will try and make a run, but the schedule is becoming harder, starting on Nov. 15 against the Mavs in Dallas.
