How Close Is Paulo Henrique Ganso To Europe? Closer Than You Think!
Perhaps the most promising midfielder in Brazil and the world today, Paulo Henrique Ganso, better known simply as Ganso, has declined an offer by his current club Santos F.C. to keep him at the Brazilian side.
Ganso is currently under contract with Santos until February of 2015, however, that means squadush in Brazil. Players are able to move sides regardless of the fact they are under contract or not, as long as whoever owns 51 percent of his rights—be it an individual, a group of individuals or companies—decides it is time to go.
We saw what Santos did earlier in the year, signing their other young stud Neymar to hold the teenager from going to Chelsea, something which I feel was a major surprise—the complete opposite reaction I had to Ganso's rejection.

Santos made its bid last week in an effort to secure the star for a while still with a clear, laid out plan for his career. Santos proposed a monthly raise for his salary to a total of roughly $87,000 a month, plus another $73,000 which would come directly from the sale of advertising space on the shoulder area of the teams jerseys. Santos also included a figure of 70 percent of future advertising/marketing done by the club which includes Ganso.
Ganso stated he felt these figures were way too low, and he also made very clear that he is unhappy with the fine Santos imposed for any team trying to lure him away, currently set at $50 million.
Santos, for its end, believes the rejection came solely due to a communication problem between Ganso and his handlers, the ones who actually received the projected career path plan.
Go right ahead there Santos, keep pointing fingers at people for your inability to hold any talent longer than a year. It is just going to lead Ganso to Europe quicker.
On a side note, former Real Madrid legend Roberto Carlos has already indicated to the teams front office that Ganso would be the perfect fit for the Spanish giants, calling him the next "Zidane".
