Georgia Football: Five Keys To Beating Tennessee
The Bulldogs are sitting at 1-4 and have fans sitting waiting wishing for them to wake up.Georgia has been in every game but just unable to win.
They’ve hurt themselves in a most of their games but were in position to get the wins. With that said, here are five keys to beating Tennessee this weekend.
5. Keep A Level Head
1 of 5
The past is the past. Georgia needs to focus on the future. The players, and coaches, need to keep a level head and not let their emotions get to them.
Yes they’re 1-4. Yes they have played horrible. But the Bulldogs cannot get down on themselves.
They must step their game up and finally finish the drill. Stay positive and stay focused.
Yes, it’s easier said than done but this has to be the week Georgia steps it up. If ever there was a must win for the Bulldogs, Saturday is definitely one.
4. Dominate the Run Game

Marcus Lattimore ran all over Georgia for 182 yards. Chris Relf of Mississippi State scampered for 97 yards. And last week Rodney Stewart torched the Bulldogs for 149 yards. The run defense has been abysmal so far this season.
Now Tauren Poole enters between the hedges. Poole has rushed for 427 yards and averages 5.3 yards a carry. Two times this season the North Georgia native has rushed for over 100 yards. Great stats for any running back.
Georgia has to get a push up front on both sides of the ball. Stop the run and then work the clock on offense.
Caleb King looked great last week (minus the late fumble). The run game needs to continue to produce. Bobo loves the play action and if the run game isn’t working Georgia will be in trouble.
3. Give It to A.J.

Everyone knows what he is capable of.
And if anyone forgot during his four game suspension Green reminded them last week just how good he really is.
With what he called the best catch of his career, AJ’s first touchdown of the year will be remembered by the Bulldog faithful for a long time.
Find him early and find him often and Georgia will be okay.
2. Hold On to the Ball
4 of 5
There have been four fumbles on the year for the Bulldogs. Two in red zone and one that cost them the game last week.
The running backs have to secure the football. This team isn’t very good at creating turnovers so holding on to the ball is a necessity. Georgia doesn’t have a clear feature back as they’ve switched it up multiple times this season.
Ealey and King are the main two and they must protect the ball this weekend to give Georgia the best chance to win. (If either of them fumbles I better see them around campus with holding a football)
1. Fan Support
5 of 5
The Bulldog nation is losing hope. And it’s the worst thing they can do at this time. Hope is all we have ladies and gentlemen.
Fans are criticizing everyone and everything about Georgia. The 1-4 start certainly hurts but it is no reason not to get out there and be loud Saturday. Have faith in these Bulldogs for the talent is there.
I know our stadium is terrible at playing music and hyping the fans up but the Bulldog Nation is capable of boosting the confidence in the team. Be the 12th man the team wants you to be.
Forget how we’ve started and help this team finish the drill.
