
LSU Football: 10 Most Miraculous Wins Under Les Miles
Louisiana State University has become Lucky State University during the six years Les Miles has been the Tigers head coach.
The most confident coach in the history of football has not seen a dire situation he doesn't believe he can escape from.
Saturday's 16-14 comeback victory over Tennessee was just the latest in a long line of "Milacles."
Here are the top 10 most dramatic LSU victories in the Les Miles era.
No. 10: LSU 26, Auburn 21 — Sept. 20, 2008

In one of the few times Jarrett Lee didn't toss a pick six during the 2008 season, he found Brandon LaFell for this 19-yard TD pass with 1:08 left in the game. LSU won 26-21.
No. 9: LSU 23, Ole Miss 20 (OT) — Nov. 18, 2006

Trailing 20-14 with 14 seconds left in the game, Tigers QB JaMarcus Russell found WR Dwayne Bowe for a five-yard touchdown pass.
However, Ole Miss blocked the extra point to send the game into overtime tied at 20.
LSU won 23-20 on a field goal by Colt David.

Miles' first game as Tigers head coach was a harbinger of things to come.
Down 17-7 in the fourth quarter, LSU blocked two punts, both returned for touchdowns.
Then trailing 31-28 on fourth-and-10, Russell zipped a 39-yard TD pass to Early Doucet for the Tigers' 35-31 win.
No 7: LSU 20, Georgia 13 — Oct. 3, 2009

LSU was up 12-7 with two minutes to play when Georgia WR A.J. Green caught a 16-yard TD pass to put the Bulldogs ahead 13-12.
However, Green was called for an excessive-celebration penalty, giving LSU good field position on the following possession.
With 46 seconds left in the game, Tigers RB Charles Scott scored the game-winning 33-yard touchdown, giving LSU a 20-13 win.

With rumors swirling that Miles would soon leave to take the Michigan head coaching job, LSU defeated Tennessee in the SEC Championship Game and earned a spot in the BCS Championship Game.
The Vols had a 14-13 lead in the fourth quarter when Jonathan Zenon intercepted an Erik Ainge pass and returned it 18 yards for the go-ahead touchdown.
LSU got a two-point conversion to go up 21-14.
No 5: LSU 28, Tennessee 24 — Nov. 4, 2006

Down 24-21 with nine seconds left, Russell roped a pass to Doucet standing alone in the middle of the end zone for the game-winning touchdown.
No. 4: LSU 41, Alabama 34 — Nov. 3, 2007

Down 34-27 with under three minutes to play, LSU scored two touchdowns.
First LSU QB Matt Flynn hit Doucet on a 32-yard crossing pattern.
Then the Tigers defense forced a sack and fumble recovery from Tide QB John Parker Wilson at the Alabama 4-yard line.
LSU RB Jacob Hester scored a 1-yard TD two plays later and LSU won 41-34.

Most teams don't have five successful fourth-down conversions for an entire season. Miles and the Tigers did that on five attempts in this game.
Trailing 24-14 in the fourth quarter LSU scored two touchdowns and converted three fourth down attempts, including two on the game-winning touchdown drive.
The Mad Hatter became "The Gambler" that night and came up aces.

LSU trailed 24-23 with 32 seconds left and the clock running. Miles had a timeout but chose not to use it.
Then, with one second to go, Flynn found WR Demetrius Byrd on a 22-yard fade route touchdown pass that sent Death Valley into pandemonium.

This is the craziest ending to a football game I have ever seen.
Trailing 14-10 with 31 seconds left and neither team having a timeout, LSU QB Jordan Jefferson was tackled at the Vols 1-yard line. The clock ticked down as players ran on and off the field.
The snap gets by Jefferson and he recovers as time expires. 92,000 LSU fans boo in disappointment. Tennessee wins 14-10. Miles and Vols coach Derek Dooley shake hands. game over, right?
Wrong! Tennessee is penalized for having 13 players on the field. One more play for LSU with no time on the clock.
Tigers RB Stevan Ridley takes a pitch, gets met at the goal line by a Vols DT, but he plows forward for the game-winning touchdown.
