WWE WrestleMania 27 Results: 7 Things We Learned From the Mixed Tag Team Match
What's up, ladies and gentlemen? My name is Eric Kanes and we are just several hours removed from one of the most epic WrestleManias in history. The world is still buzzing about the incredible Undertaker vs. Triple H match and The Undertaker's post-match status. The world is still in shock over The Rock screwing helping Miz retain the WWE Championship.
However, through all of the buzz, one of the matches might have been overlooked. It was far from being a five-star classic but the six-person mixed tag team match taught us a lot of lessons.
Now before we go on, let me just say that these lessons will be a bit controversial considering the IWC's stance on the people involved in the match but these are some very important lessons nonetheless.
Let's see what the six-person mixed tag team match had to teach us.
1. Snooki Is a Bigger Draw Than Most People Think
1 of 8
While a lot of people may be under the impression that the order of the matches was decided by a flip of a coin, there's actually more to it than that. Just as I predicted, Snooki's match was the one to follow Undertaker vs. Triple H and it was the match that was second to last on the card. Why, you ask?
Well, that's because WWE wanted to have the Jersey Shore fans, who ordered the event just to see Snooki, stick around. Obviously the match wasn't going to be the main event but with the way the show was streamed, those people had to sit through the entire event. This was WWE's way of possibly hooking those people to their product.
If WWE felt that Snooki was not that big of a draw, they would've placed the match earlier in the show (see: Mickey Rourke).
2. Snooki Is Not That Bad
2 of 8
Once again, Snooki's match was far from being a technical classic. Her 30-second performance was nothing spectacular. However, as we saw, she's really not as bad as she was made out to be.
During her 30 seconds in the ring, she didn't look lost like some of the other celebrities who have insisted on wrestling. Furthermore, during her 30 seconds in the ring, she didn't look lost like some of the other divas who have insisted on wrestling.
It isn't really fair to bash Snooki for wrestling when the only alternatives would have been Kelly Kelly & Eve. Sure, they travel 300 days a year with WWE, but are they really that good?
Snooki has recently been in talks of becoming a full-time diva with WWE. Personally, I wouldn't mind it considering that 80 percent of the divas don't belong in the industry anyway. However...
3. This Is Most Likely the End of Snooki's WWE Run
3 of 8
That's right. The storyline with Laycool seems to have concluded with the babyfaces prevailing. Considering that most of the divas make less money than office workers and Snooki must have had a pretty good pay as the star of Jersey Shore, don't expect to see too much of her in WWE anytime soon. She has not yet signed a contract for Season 4 of Jersey Shore, but expect her to do so in the near future.
4. John Morrison Will Be a Mid-Carder for the Foreseeable Future
4 of 8
This is the really controversial one. A lot of the IWC members view Morrison as a wrestling God. A lot of them see Morrison becoming the WWE Champion by the end of the year.
The fact that Morrison was involved in this match in the first place is proof of the fact that WWE has no big plans for him. However, this match further proved that.
At Elimination Chamber, Morrison put on a decent performance. However, the crowd focused on only CM Punk and John Cena with lots of "CM Punk," "Let's Go Cena" and "Cena Sucks" chants. Just by listening to the crowd, you wouldn't even know that Morrison was there.
Tonight, he came out to literally no reaction. I get that it's hard to follow The Undertaker and Triple H. John Cena and The Miz barely pulled it off. Nonetheless, Vickie Guerrero still got an incredible response. The crowd popped huge for Trish Stratus. "He had a tough act to follow" is not a valid excuse because the other performers were still able to generate some sort of response.
Finally, Morrison was not tagged in for a second and only hit one move. As a big fan of his work, I hate to say it but John Morrison is not as over as most of you guys think. John Morrison looks like he will be stuck in the mid-card for at least another year. There is another big reason for that.
5. John Morrison Thrives on Gimmicks
5 of 8
If anything, this match proves that John Morrison is not as exciting when he's not surrounded by gimmicks. Jumping off cages and doing flips off ladders is cool and most of us enjoy that kind of stuff for the most part, but what if that stuff isn't available? What then?
John Morrison has had terrific performances in Ladder, Falls Count Anywhere, Royal Rumble, and Elimination Chamber matches but what happens when the gimmicks run out?
I know that some people will say that Jeff Hardy got over with his extreme style but Hardy was also a merchandise draw. Simply jumping off of tall objects is not enough to warrant a main event push.
6. Dolph Ziggler Is Nothing Without His "Business Associate"
6 of 8
Dolph Ziggler finds himself in a similar situation as John Morrison. While Vickie Guerrero was showered with heat upon her entrance, you wouldn't even know that there was a crowd by the reaction (or lack of reaction) that Ziggler got.
Ziggler is a decent in-ring worker but without Vickie Guerrero, he's about as exciting as a sack of potatoes. With that said, Dolph Ziggler's future really depends on Vickie Guerrero.
7. Snooki Should Stick to Evening Gowns
7 of 8
But you already knew that.
Conclusion

And that shall conclude the seven lessons that the mixed tag team match taught us. Do you agree with these things? Let me know in the comment section.
