Wladimir Klitschko Will Again Defeat Samuel Peter September 11
IBF, WBO, IBO, and Ring Magazine heavyweight champion Wladimir “Dr. Steelhammer” Klitschko is now tentatively scheduled to fight Samuel “The Nigerian Nightmare” Peter September 11 at a location to be determined.
Klitschko (54-3, 48 KOs), a Ukrainian who won a gold medal as a super heavyweight at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, was initially slated to fight Russian Alexander Povetkin on the same date in Frankfurt, Germany.
Povetkin (19-0, 14 KOs) has since inexplicably placed his head between his legs and bailed on his opportunity for glory.
Therefore, Peter (34-3, 27 KOs) appears destined to receive a rematch against “Dr. Steelhammer.”
Peter managed to knock Klitschko down three times in a unanimous decision loss to the Ukrainian in September 2005.
Klitschko has clearly polished his ring skills, and he hasn’t been defeated since Lamon Brewster trumped him with a fifth round TKO in April 2004.
Peter is a true slugger and a devout Christian who neither smokes nor boozes.
“The Nigerian Nightmare,” who is only 29, should be a solid barometer to see how much Klitschko has improved over the years.
Peter has the very definition of a puncher’s chance to emerge victorious over Klitschko.
However, Klitschko is currently much advanced and it’s hard to envision Peter standing triumphant at the conclusion of the bout.
Expect a focused and determined Peter to have a “Nightmare” performance versus “Dr. Steelhammer” in seven weeks.
