Should Manny Pacquiao Wait or Move On?
Manny Pacquiao is probably sitting behind the desk from his newly-elected position to the Filipino Congress, waiting for someone across the ocean from Sin City to blink first.
The question remains: Should Pacquiao wait for Floyd Mayweather Jr. to make up his mind or move on?
Every boxing fan in the world wants to see this mega-fight happen.
We don't want Mayweather to say he's retiring because he's not ready to fight again this year.
If Pac Man's camp decides to line up potential opponents for him to beat up, then Mayweather would be a forgotten man.
You can't wait forever for the undefeated boxer to make the rules.
If the fight is going to happen, let it happen.
According to RingTV.com, Mayweather is the top-ranked welterweight in the world and Pacquiao is No. 2.
And that No. 1 vs. No. 2 match up is what we're waiting for.
Ring TV rated Mayweather as the best boxer in his division and Pacquiao the most fun to watch.
I think Ring TV got one of the two right.
Pacquiao is boring to me as a boxer.
He has fast hands, and he'll use them to give no mercy to opponents.
But where's the flair, the style, and bravado?
When I saw Pacquiao on the HBO "24/7" series with Mayweather, he didn't talk any trash.
Maybe that's not his style.
I will say this: Pacquiao's road to pro boxing was probably more difficult than Mayweather's.
Instead of Pacquiao waiting for this nonsense from the Mayweather camp to end, he can fight Miguel Cotto.
How about Paul Williams?
Oh wait, Williams will beat the crap out of Pacquiao.
He'll also beat the crap out of Mayweather.
Williams was once considered the most avoided fighter because no one wanted to fight him.
Now that title is given to Antwone Smith, according to RingTV.com.
Williams wanted to fight Mayweather, but "Money" retired from boxing at that time.
What would be the difference if Mayweather fought Williams or Thomas Hearns in his prime?
They're both tall fighters who have long reaches.
Mayweather is the key to this fight happening this year or next year.
If he doesn't want to cooperate, then screw him.
Mayweather can take his cash and pout when he didn't get to arrange the fight on his terms.
Forget the drug testing.
Let them fight with the gloves off, like they did in the old days.
They can fight in the hot desert in Iraq in 130-degree weather.
It's as neutral of a location as you can find.
Or keep the fight location in Las Vegas.
Mayweather will either show up, or he'll get embarrassed in his own back yard.
Pacquiao's wife and kids should be on hand to watch history.
All of Mayweather's four kids and his baby mama's will have their hands out for their share of the fight proceeds from the pay-per-view match.
Pacquiao should give Mayweather a month to make up his mind. If not, he should move on.
