County Championship Division One Update
Only two matches took place in the latest round of County Championship games with the Roses match ending in a draw for the second time this season.
Yorkshire go top of the table following their draw on 113 points, winning three, drawing five, and losing once.
The White Rose county batted first at Old Trafford and piled up 447 as Adam Lyth made 100, Glen Chapple the star bowler with 4-75.
Lancashire found themselves in deep trouble at 235-8 before Kyle Hogg hit a career best 88 to ensure they finished on 358.
Adil Rashid (5-90) and Azeem Rafiq (4-92) ripped through the lineup.
Yorkshire declared on 215-7 in their second innings as Simon Kerrigan took 4-77, setting Lancashire a target of 305 to win.
The Red Rose county seemed content for a draw as wickets fell around an unbeaten Steven Croft (85) before the draw was confirmed at 192-7.
Nottinghamshire are second on 112 points, winning four, drawing two, and losing one.
Lancashire move up to third on 105 points, winning three and drawing five matches following the Roses draw.
Somerset are fourth on 104 points, winning three, drawing three, and losing two games.
Durham are fifth on 93 points, winning three, drawing two, and losing three after their 219 run win over Warwickshire at Chester-le-street.
Ian Blackwell (86) helped Durham post 288 in their first innings as Neil Carter took 3-36.
Warwickshire replied with 224 thanks to Rikki Clarke's 68 while Callum Thorp snared 4-54.
Durham made 289 second time around thanks to an opening stand of 158 between Michael Di Venuto (92) and Mark Stoneman (60), Imran Tahir keeping the away side in the game with 6-69.
Needing 354 for victory Warwickshire collapsed to 134, only three men making double figures as Steve Harmison showed form of old with 7-29.
Essex are sixth on 79 points, winning one, drawing six, and losing two games.
Kent are seventh on 76 points, winning one, drawing four, and losing three games.
Warwickshire are eighth on 72 points following their defeat with two wins, one draw, and six defeats.
Hampshire prop up the rest on 68 points, winning one, drawing three. and losing four so far.
The next round of fixtures, July 5-8, sees Essex host Nottinghamshire, Hampshire play Kent and Yorkshire face Warwickshire.
