The 2010 NBA Draft is this thursday night. Will the Heat hold onto their picks?
WAS | John Wall | Kentucky (Fr.) | 6'4 | 195 | PG | Playmaker in the mold of Derrick Rose.
PHI | Evan Turner | Ohio State (So.) | 6'7 | 214 | SG | The draft's most complete player. Immediate impact.
NJ | Derrick Favors | Georgia Tech (Fr.) | 6'10 | 245 | PF | His athleticism and quickness would fit well alongside Lopez
MIN | Wesley Johnson | Syracuse (Jr.) | 6'8 | 206 | SF | Great scorer. The Big East's top player last year.
SAC | Greg Monroe | Georgetown (Jr.) | 6'11 | 247 | PF/C | High skilled big who can do it all. Excellent passer.
GS | DeMarcus Cousins | Kentucky (Fr.) | 6'11 | 292 | C | Has as much talent as anyone in the draft including Wall. Scouts question his desire, maturity.
DET | Ed Davis | N. Carolina (So.) | 6'10 | 226 | PF/C | Extremely talented but never dominated at UNC, partly due to lackluster guard play this year.
LAC | Al Farouq Aminu | Wake Forest (So.) | 6'9 | 215 | SF | The Clips need an athletic 3 who can score and Aminu is that and more.
UTA | Cole Aldrich | Kansas (Jr.) | 6'10 | 240 | PF/C | This smart, underrated big man is a perfect fit for the Jazz.
IND | Patrick Patterson | Kentucky (Jr.) | 6'9 | 245 | PF | The most NBA-ready big in the draft will be a steal wherever he goes.
NOR | Gordan Hayward | Butler (So.) | 6'8 | 211 | SF | Shooter from a small program? Check. Skilled but lacks quickness? Check. White? Check. Adam Morrison? Check.
MEM | Luke Babbit | Nevada (So.) | 6'9 | 214 | SF | Absurdly efficient scorer (50-90-40 shooter) but will be a liability defensively.
TOR | Daniel Orton | Kentucky (Fr.) | 6'10 | 269 | C | Averaged 3 and 3 in college but nothing beats potential right? Bust.
HOU | Xavier Henry | Kansas (Fr.) | 6'7 | 210 | SG | A lights out shooter/athlete is always a nice addition.
MIL | Paul George | Fresno St. (So.) | 6'9 | 214 | SF | The Bucks need a wing scorer and that's George's billing.
MIN | James Anderson | Okla State (Jr.) | 6'9 | 210 | SG/SF | One of the NCAA's best scorers last year (22 ppg).
CHI | Avery Bradley | Texas (Fr.) | 6'3 | 180 | PG/SG | This combo guard is a dominant perimeter defender who has the potential to be like OKC's Westbrook.
MIA | Damion James | Texas (Sr.) | 6'7 | 225 | SF | He can defend multiple positions, gives his all every game, has improved every year, and went to college for four years. Can you say Pat Riley player? No guarantee the Heat hold onto this pick.
BOS | Solomon Alabi | Florida St (So.) | 7'1 | 238 | C | The Celtics need another Center on the roster and Alabi would fit in their system.
SAS | Quincy Pondexter | Washington (Sr.) | 6'7 | 220 | SG/SF | A well rounded, safe pick for the best drafting team in the league.
OKC | Ekpe Udoh | Baylor (Jr.) | 6'10 | 237 | PF/C | The Thunder need more size and Udoh is a smart, complete big man.
POR | Eric Bledsoe | Kentucky (Fr.) | 6'1 | 195 | PG/SG | Nobody questions his talent just his ability to play the point.
MIN | Kevin Seraphin | France (20) | 6'10 | 260 | PF/C | With Minnesota having no intent to win now, they can afford to take a raw player with upside.
ATL | Devin Ebanks | WV (So.) | 6'8 | 208 | SF | A freak athlete but very unpolished
MEM | Eliot Williams | Memphis (So.) | 6'4 | 180 | SG | Gifted player with a ton of upside.
OKC | Armon Johnson | Nevada (Jr.) | 6'4 | 195 | PG | Strong athlete with a knack for getting to the rim
NJ | Craig Brackens | Iowa State (Jr.) | 6'10 | 229 | PF | Balanced scoring forward with good quickness and size.
MEM | Hassan Whiteside | Marshall (Fr.) | 7'0 | 227 | C | Big potential and big risk. Youth and immaturity issues on a 7 foot frame can mean lottery or late first round.
ORL | Willie Warren | Oklahoma (So.) | 6'4 | 210 | PG/SG | Regressed last season after a superb freshman year. A great get this late because of his potential.
WAS | Tiny Gallon | Oklahoma (Fr.) | 6'10 | 302 | C | You can't teach size and "Tiny" certainly has it.
*The Heat own the 18, 41, 42, 48 picks
