Petition To Bring Roy Jones Jr Back To HBO Full Time

King JJun 9, 2010

If you caught the historical fight of Miguel Cotto vs Yuri Foreman at the Yankees stadium last Saturday night, you may have seen quite a number of interesting events that took place that night.

You saw the very first championship title fight to ever take place at the new Yankees Stadium, and what a success it was. Miguel Cotto made a big comeback since his devastating loss last November to the fighter of the decade, Manny Pacquiao, by knocking out the WBA light middleweight champion, Yuri Foreman.

If you are a fan of Cotto like myself, you were more than happy to see him win his third title in his third weight class.

We also saw one of the most bizarre acts ever done by a referee in a boxing match. Referee Arthur Mercante Jr. abused his powers by throwing the towel back outside the ring, and telling the champion Yuri Foreman that he did not want to see him go out like that.

Wow, if I did not know better, I would assume either Mercante had the worldโ€™s biggest man crush on Yuri or he had probably put his mortgage down on Foreman to defeat Cotto. Or at least for the fight to go the distance.

But more importantly, we saw the return of two amazing things. One, we saw the return of Miguel Cottoโ€™s destructing big left hook to the body. This signature Cotto left hook was the same left hook that derailed Carlos Quintanaโ€™s star rising status, as well as the left hook that was the only one powerful punch so powerful that it actually made Paulie Malignaggi shut up for once.

This was the very same Cotto left hook to the body that ended the beating that the injured Foreman was enduring ever since his freak slip in the fight.

But just as beautiful as the return of Cottoโ€™s left hook to the body, was the return of the great Roy Jones Jr. Yes, if you noticed, Roy was on hand filling in for Emanuel Steward delivering excellent ringside expert analysis on the fight providing interesting, insightful commentary something that the HBO team has been lacking since he left in 2005.

On top of that, the females over at my condo watching the fight that night all unanimously agreed that Roy was one handsome man.

So lets face it fight fans. Roy Jones Jr. is what the HBO commentator team has been lacking ever since his departure. Jones is sharp, charming, witty, knowledgeable, credible, good looking and still one of the most greatest pound for pound champions of all time. He was exciting to watch in his prime and he is still exciting to listen to today.

So as the President and CEO of the Roy Jones Jr Nut Hugging Inc., I bring to you the official bring Roy Jones Jr. back to HBO Full Time Petition. Please sign and make HBO boxing sexy once again Roy Jones Jr. style.
