Bret Hart Becoming WWE Raw's New GM Is Very Good for Raw
This week we saw the appointment of a new general manager for Monday Night Raw. The man chosen for the job was none other than WWE Hall of Famer and lifelong fan favorite Bret "The Hitman" Hart.
Bret had originally signed on with WWE for a four-month program that would end with his match at Wrestlemania 26 against company CEO Vince McMahon.
But he must have fallen back in love with the WWE, as he has yet to make his departure.

Bret won the United States Championship a little over a week ago from The Miz, who had named Hart as the challenger to his title after losing a match to Tyson Kidd.
Hitman came out and, with a little help from his family, was able to make The Miz tap to the Sharpshooter. Hart celebrated his fifth U.S. Championship with The Hart Dynasty, who also won the Tag Titles from The Miz.
Bret relinquished the US title after being appointed the new Raw GM. So what does Bret running Raw mean for WWE?
It means two things. One, for the first time in years Raw has had a babyface GM who will try to call things down the middle. Two, it means some of the older fans who may no longer watch Raw have a reason to tune in again.
I can see Bret staying for awhile as the GM. He has the credibility to be taken seriously on air as an authority figure, and there is room for a future program to be had with one of his long-time rivals.
The obvious choice would be having him go at it with McMahon again, but Vince has said that he wanted to retire the Mr. McMahon character after Mania was over.
Bret's first order of business was to name the six men who would fight for spots in the upcoming fatal four-way PPV match against John Cena. This angered an injured Batista who was told he would have to fight for his spot.
Batista's response to that was "I QUIT." So that means Randy Orton, who is also injured, will be one of the three men to go after Cena's gold.
I see big things for Bret as GM. He's still huge with the fans and he can help generate some real interest in the Raw brand again, especially after WWE's guest host gimmick goes away.
There are rumors that HBK could make a return in some capacity that may not include wrestling, so the possibility of HBK and Bret having something to do with each other is prevalent.
I hope Bret stays GM for awhile. It has been awesome seeing the Hitman back in WWE, even if it's in a limited capacity.
What do you guys think of Bret being Raw's new GM?
