Rooney, Fabregas OUT, Liverpool FC's Top Four Stance In Doubt
Good Luck looks set to elude Liverpool FC all over again..Much has been said and written about the seemingly easier run-in for Liverpool FC in coming matches at end of the season and how Liverpool FC should still finish fourth.
However, now with Rooney and Fabregas being injured, the tougher runs of the other Top Four Contenders also looks a lot smoother than before. Teams like Aston Villa, Tottenham and Manchester City who are all vying for that elusive spot now would feel that with their main men out two out of the Top three teams are much tamer than what could have been, and victories for them in any match against them is very much possible.
Liverpool's season have really faced a lot of problems this season. Other than some of the most forgettable performances on the pitch, they also have been at the recieving end of injuries to their key players for long durations at critical times along with some undeniable bad luck. Now when at last everything seems to fall to place, some favors that they deseperately thought would arrive, seems to fade by quite an extent.
No matter what Nemanja Vidic claims about Manchester United being more than a one man team,if they have been any force to reckon with this season it has almost solely been due to the brilliance of Rooney. With him injured, Manchester United seem to be very shaky before the most critical, almost campaign defining matches that are coming up. Needless to say, Mr. Ferguson is certainly feeling the heat.
Coming to Arsenal, I for one surely feel that there is something wrong in the way they play at critical times of the season. Either inexperience or seriously dubious football due to lack of confidence (which no one knows why ??) they keep throwing away advantages. This year has not been much different. Especially the draw versus Birmingham has yet again proved that their composure needs some doing. I mean how else could a team play so attractive football and yet not get the results. Now, with Fabregas injured and out for the season, Arshavin out for three weeks it is doubtful how they would be able to inspire to live up the mounting expectations.
Now, speaking of the Premier League, obviously their losses will be huge blows to their own title hopes and Liverpool FC's losses to these two teams (Arsenal & Manchester United) means that the chances of getting a fourth place (even if they win most of their coming matches) has become doubtful.
Being in a financial crisis is also not going to help the Merseysiders one bit. It is their imperative to secure that spot and without that they look set to face another phase of financial difficulties. The worst part of it is that it is not completely in their hands that they can do it on their own. Injuries and some dismal form meant that they have kept it until very late. If they miss out on the Top fourth this time, they will have themselves to blame, True. However, with Fabregas and Rooney injured, some key advantages with Liverpool FC's Battle for the fourth could well, prove very tough. However, injuries to players of other key players in the League surely would not be the cause of their "waterloo", although a lot is still remains to be seen..doesn't look as rosy for the REDs though..has to be admitted.
