Report: Braves Promote Prospect Austin Riley from Triple-A Gwinnett; Has 15 HRs
The Atlanta Braves are 19th in the league in home runs this season, but they are reportedly turning to their farm system for a power boost.
According to David O'Brien of The Athletic, the Braves will call up Austin Riley from Triple-A Gwinnett on Wednesday. O'Brien noted the Braves made the call after center fielder Ender Inciarte left Tuesday's contest against the St. Louis Cardinals with back tightness.
Riley has 15 home runs this season in the minor leagues, 13 of which have come in his last 18 games.

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
Riley is a third baseman, but Scott White of CBSSports.com noted the Braves have "been experimenting with him in left field, though, presumably with the idea he'd replace Inciarte outright." He also suggested the prospect will remain in the major leagues as long as he continues to hit.
Hit is what's he's done this year, with a slash line of .299/.377/.681 and 39 RBI to go with the home runs.
MLB.com ranked Riley as the No. 34 prospect in the league and No. 4 prospect in a strong Braves farm system.
It is still early in the season, but Atlanta is 3.5 games behind the Philadelphia Phillies and tied with the New York Mets in what figures to be a competitive National League East. The defending division champions have the opportunity to pick up ground with more power, and Riley has shown plenty of it.
