USC Football: Preseason Fullback and Tight End Evaluations
With a long summer ahead until the game against Virginia. I felt that I would take the time to delve deeply into the USC Roster, with Position by Position Breakdowns. Today is Fullback and Tight-end.
Fullback:
Adam Goodman, 6-1 240, Jr.

Injuries had prevented Adam from receiving scholarship offers after finishing junior college. But after walking on at USC last year. Goodman has worked hard and long towards earning a scholarship this spring, he shall serve as the backup to Stanley Havali. The coaches have expresses that they are comfortable with Adam playing in any offense situation.
Stanley Havali , 6-0 225, Redshirt So.

After redshirting his freshman season, Stanley made a huge impression playing last season, his ability to block and make plays from the backfield were highlights from his first season starting. Impressive as always during spring practice, he was somewhat held back by nagging little injuries. Looking at Stanley Havili’s upside for the future, the sky is the limit. Will be a key returning starter next season.
Tight Ends:
Jimmy Miller, 6-5 250, Redshirt Sr.

Previously recruited as a defensive end, Jimmy is now entering his senior season, Jimmy is considered the primary the blocking tight end on the team. He should find the field frequently this season due to effectiveness at blocking, although he more than able to run routes and provide a receiving threat, so his inclusion on the field will not dictate a running situation.
Anthony McCoy, 6-5 255, Redshirt Jr.

Considered the tight end in waiting with Fred Davis graduating last season, McCoy is an athletic pass catching tight end who is a large target in the red zone for quarterback Mark Sanchez. His main strength is considered his route running and ability to find the ball in traffic, which was displayed this spring. Currently named co-starter along with Rhett Ellison.
Jordan Cameron, 6-5 230, Redshirt So.

Former BYU basketball recruit who will be transferring to USC this Fall semester, was a standout player for his high school who originally was recruited to USC for football, after redshirting his first year at BYU will now compete at USC at the tight end spot. An athletic tall receiver who will need to work hard in the gym to be affective on the field.
Rhett Ellison, 6-5 250, Redshirt Fr.

After redshirting last year, Rhett was somewhat of an unknown substance coming into spring practice. But this athletic tight end took every opportunity that was given to him to impress the coaches. After being named co-starter along with Anthony McCoy this spring, big things are expected from Ellison this fall.
Blake Ayles, 6-5 255 [Incoming Fr.]

Ayles a highly thought of recruit from USC's last recruiting class is an athletic tight end who was expected to contribute a lot during his freshman year, Ayles who was an Army All-American last season is known for having exceptional hands and is expected to push for playing time this year, although depth is strong at his position, if he competes well don't be surprised to see him early and often.
