Liverpool FC: The Facts and The Future
There are very few football managers who are criticized as much as Rafael Benitez. It may be for his zonal marking or for his changes (or as some people prefer to say rotation). But looking at what Liverpool were when he inherited the team from Gerard Houllier and what it is now, considering the amount he has spent in comparison to his competitors, is amazing.
We can see the difference. They are more organized, playing disciplined football with or without the football. The team has a strong spine and only needs a couple more players, not necessarily world class ones, but ones which fit into the shape and style of the team well.

Apart from few blips he has got his transfer targets right at quite reasonable prices as he hasn’t got the money of Manure and Chelski. Many of us didn’t know Agger or Skrtel but they are good and quite young as well.
He has also brought some good players into the youth academy.
One that stands out, and I personally think will grow into a great player, is 19 year old Kriztian Nemeth. He has already been called up for his senior national squad. He has got everything a striker needs. The team is a young bunch with some amazing talents, which is why they won the Premiere League reserve title.
Every Liverpool fan would crave to see the league title coming to Anfield and I think they will not have to wait long for that to see happening.
Remember how Sir Alex struggled in his first few years and was slated by all. Being manager of a football club is not like playing manager mode in FIFA and master league of PES. It takes time to build a great team. Only Riise, Hyypia, Gerrard and Carragher are left behind from the Houllier era and one of them seems to be heading toward the exit door we all know who and why.
Speaking of Sir Alex, I can't understand how the changes to his team are any different to the rotation of Benitez. The average number of changes made to the squad during the course of season by Rafa and Sir Alex are almost identical.
Another reason for Liverpool fans to be optimistic about next season is that it seems Rafa has found the stable system for his team by playing 4-2-3-1. a very similar formation to Valencia's during his time their.
Degen and Dossena; Rafa’s latest transfer recruits, fit into this system well as they are solid in defense but can attack as well. I think it is important in this system for full backs to be able to attack because there is enough defensive cover from the holding midfielders.
So, let’s hope, wait and see if Rafa and his Red army will achieve next season because we know he certainly has the potential to do so.
