Inter Forever Beat Chelsea Legends in Friendly Match in Memory of Ray Wilkins
An Inter Milan legends team called Inter Forever beat the the Chelsea Legends squad in a friendly at Stamford Bridge on Friday, winning 4-1. The match was played in memory of Ray Wilkins, a club icon who died in April.
There were a host of stars who featured for either side, including Hernan Crespo, Michael Ballack, Eidur Gudjohnsen and Michael Essien. Gianluca Vialli was Chelsea's manager for the occasion.
The opening goal was scored by a former Chelsea manager, with Roberto Di Matteo putting the hosts on the board:

The Inter legends were the better side in the first half, however, and scored two goals through Marco Materazzi and David Suazo. They could have scored even more, but Carlo Cudicini was on point in the Blues goal, turning back the clock.
He wasn't the only standout between the sticks, as Sebastien Frey made a save most current goalkeepers would be proud of in the second half:
At half-time, Gudjohnsen took a break from the crossbar challenge to heap praise on Wilkins:
Pierluigi Casiraghi missed a wonderful opportunity to pull the Blues level after the break, as he aimed his header too close to Frey, and Inter Forever secured the win late with a goal from Giorgos Karagounis.
Despite the score, the home fans were having a great time:
Karagounis wasn't done, scoring a second goal shortly before the final whistle.
The final result hardly mattered, however, as the fans showed up at the Bridge to watch some of their favorite players of all time in action and pay tribute to Wilkins. In that sense, the occasion was a rousing success for everyone involved.
