Gill ClarkMay 18, 2018

La Liga champions Barcelona conclude their campaign on Sunday, with Real Sociedad the visitors to the Camp Nou.

Ernesto Valverde's side suffered their first defeat of the league season last time out against Levante but will be aiming to sign off in style.

It promises to be an emotional evening as two club legends bow out. Andres Iniesta will play his final game for Barcelona, and La Real midfielder Xabi Prieto is set to retire at the end of the season.

Barcelona are expected to be without Thomas Vermaelen, who was forced off in the defeat to Levante with a hamstring problem. Samuel Umtiti has also been struggling with injury and missed Wednesday's trip to South Africa for a friendly with Mamelodi Sundowns. Sergi Roberto will miss out once again because of suspension.

Real Sociedad also have injury problems and will be without David Concha, Jon Guridi, Imanol Agirretxe, Aritz Elustondo, Igor Zubeldia and Adnan Januzaj, per Transfermarkt.

Barcelona Say Goodbye to a True Legend

The word legend is used a lot in football, but there's no denying that it applies to Iniesta, who will play his final game for Barcelona on Sunday.

The midfielder has spent his entire career at the Camp Nou and leaves with a bulging trophy cabinet, as Goal showed:

He is also one of the most well-respected players in Spain after scoring the winner in the FIFA 2010 World Cup final. His humble nature also means he is incredibly well liked, and Valverde has already said the midfielder will be "impossible" to replace, per Ivan San Antonio at Sport.

Barcelona have already shown how they plan to pay tribute to the 34-year-old:

On the pitch, they have already made moves to cope without Iniesta by bringing in Philippe Coutinho. The Brazil international has been productive since arriving in January, as Opta showed:

It may take more than one player to survive without Iniesta, and the club has confirmed it has an option to bring in Brazilian midfielder Arthur from Gremio in July.

Barcelona also want to sign Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann, per Lluis Miguelsanz at Sport. The team will look different next season without Iniesta, but Sunday will be all about the veteran midfielder.

La Real Must Target Barcelona's Fragile Defence

Barcelona's strength for the majority of this season has been their defence, but Valverde's men have been wobbling at the back recently and shipped five at Levane last time out.

The team have kept just one clean sheet in their past 12 outings. January signing Yerry Mina featured against Levante and had a tough game.

Journalist Jason Pettigrove believes the Colombia international isn't ready for first-team football with Barca:

Injuries and suspensions mean Valverde will have to shuffle his defence again on Saturday, which could work in Real Sociedad's favour.

Only Barcelona and Real Madrid have scored more goals in La Liga this season than Imanol Alguacil's side, who have netted 66 times in 37 games.

The two clubs shared six goals the last time they met, as Barcelona won at Anoeta for the first time in a decade despite going 2-0 down. With nothing to play for, there could be plenty of goals once more. Barcelona also know that just two goals more will take them to 100 in La Liga for the season.
