David Irving Domestic Violence Investigation Still Ongoing Despite Reports
The domestic violence case against Dallas Cowboys defensive lineman David Irving remains open, despite a previous report it had been closed.
Earlier on Thursday, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported the Frisco Police Department made Irving's case file inactive after investigating since-recanted allegations of domestic violence against him.

Irving's former girlfriend hacked his Twitter account and posted messages accusing him of domestic violence in April, per Scott Sidway of WBAP:
In her statement recanting the allegations, Irving's girlfriend said she was "emotional and upset" at the time.
"I was very upset and made some allegations that were false at the time due to our vocal argument and my emotional state," she wrote. "I had no intentions of getting David into trouble. I was just very emotional and upset ... David did not put his hands on me at any time."
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones told reporters at the time that they were still gathering information and letting the legal process play out.
Irving has been with the Cowboys since 2015, when he was signed off the Kansas City Chiefs' practice squad. The 24-year-old has appeared in 35 games over the past three seasons, setting a career high with seven sacks in eight games in 2017.
