Report: Eagles' Tim Jernigan Underwent Surgery for Herniated Disc Injury
Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Tim Jernigan reportedly underwent offseason surgery to repair a herniated disc, according to 94 WIP's Howard Eskin.
Jernigan, 25, will not participate in the Eagles' offseason program but is expected to make a "full recovery."
The Eagles acquired Jernigan from the Baltimore Ravens last April, and his arrival further bolstered one of the league's nastiest defensive fronts.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Paired with three-time Pro Bowler defensive tackle Fletcher Cox along the interior of the Eagles defensive line, Jernigan registered 29 tackles and 2.5 sacks as he helped the reigning Super Bowl champions finish the season with the league's top run defense.
"He's an explosive player, he's disruptive, he plays with a lot of energy," defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz said in October, according to the Morning Call's Nick Fierro. "The players feed off of him also."
Thanks to that impact, Jernigan was rewarded with a four-year, $48 million extension in November that runs through the end of the 2021 season.
If Jernigan's rehab lasts longer than expected, the Eagles can take solace in the fact that they have Cox, free-agent signee Haloti Ngata and the versatile Michael Bennett available to play extra snaps inside.
