Jaylen Brown: Celtics Have 'Nothing to Lose' vs. Bucks in Game 7

Tyler ConwayApr 28, 2018

Boston Celtics forward Jaylen Brown will be playing in the second Game 7 of his career Saturday night, and he doesn't expect himself or any of his teammates to shy from the spotlight.

"We got nothing to lose. Everybody has been writing us off anyway," Brown told reporters Saturday. "We got our backs on the wall, it's at home, we're going to come out and bust through that wall, if that's what it takes.

"We got a lot of young guys looking to make a name. And it's the perfect time and a perfect stage. I think everybody is excited about it. So I can't wait to get out there."

The Celtics are five-point favorites over the Milwaukee Bucks, per Odds Shark, so maybe not "everyone" is writing them off. Neither team has won a road game through the first six contests of the series, and Boston will have the home-court advantage on Saturday.

"I expect it [the Garden atmosphere to] be what it's always been ... legendary, all those words. A great atmosphere. The perfect basketball environment," Brown said.

Brown is averaging 20.5 points and 5.3 rebounds through the first six games but has been inconsistent. He's totaled just 28 points on 11-of-28 shooting in Games 5 and 6, including a 6-of-15 effort in Game 6.

The Celtics have relied on the second-year forward to pick up the scoring slack due to injuries to Kyrie Irving, Gordon Hayward and Marcus Smart. The latter returned in Game 5 from a hand injury but is still working his way back into the fold.

Boston would be the first No. 2 seed to lose in the first round since the Dallas Mavericks lost in six games to the San Antonio Spurs in 2010.
