Elysee Mbem-Bosse Apologizes for Jim Harbaugh Threats, Talks Police Harassment

Former Michigan Wolverines linebacker Elysee Mbem-Bosse issued an apology on Twitter after he tagged Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh in a series of threatening messages online.

Mbem-Bosse apologized to Harbaugh but was critical of campus police, saying "being harassed by the university police and being told I'm mentally ill without proper evaluation is against my civil rights":

The Detroit News' Angelique S. Chengelis shared a statement from Michigan on Tuesday in which the school said Mbem-Bosse "left the football program in mid-November and is no longer with the team."

According to Chengelis, Mbem-Bosse wrote a number of cryptic tweets such as "Michigan is open carry. Let's not forget." and "Let's not have a murder case on your hands."

Mbem-Bosse also appeared to vent his frustration with the circumstances surrounding his departure from the football program when he directed multiple tweets at Harbaugh's account:

Mbem-Bosse then shared what appears to be a report from a psychiatrist at a University of Michigan medical facility:

Melissa Overton, deputy chief of police at Michigan, told Chengelis on Thursday that Mbem-Bosse had yet to commit a crime but officers "will continue to assess the situation."

Overton said Sunday the investigation remains ongoing and didn't provide any additional details, citing privacy laws.
