Arch Manning, Texas' Win vs. OSU Sets Viewership Records, How Many Fans Watched Epic CFB Matchup?

A total of 14 million viewers (with a peak of 16.3 million viewers) watched Texas football's 24-23 comeback win over Ohio State last Saturday evening.

It was ESPN's most-watched regular season college football game since Ohio State beat Michigan 30-27 in double overtime on Nov. 26, 2016.

It was the most-watched regular season primetime game on any network since 2012.

Quarterback Arch Manning and the Longhorns were down 23-3 entering the fourth quarter, but they scored three touchdowns in the final 14-plus minutes. Manning found Ryan Wingo for a three-yard pass, and Hollywood Smothers scored on a pair of one-yard runs. The second one happened with 25 seconds remaining.

Texas, which was fourth in the polls, heading into the evening, moved up to No. 1. Ohio State, the country's previously top-ranked team, fell to No. 6.

It's certainly possible these two teams meet again in the College Football Playoff for another potentially electric game that would attract millions of viewers.

In the meantime, Ohio State will look to bounce back Saturday afternoon at home vs. Kent State. Texas will host UTSA on Saturday evening.
