Al Horford Asks If He Can Complain About Refs in Spanish to Avoid Fine
Boston Celtics center Al Horford jokingly asked Friday whether he could criticize the officials in Spanish to avoid punishment from the NBA following the team's 116-92 road loss to the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 3 of the teams' first-round playoff series.
"If I give away money, I want to give it to charity," Horford said, per Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe. "Can I say what I want in Spanish?"
The Celtics were often left frustrated with the high-pressure Bucks defense, which forced Boston into 16 turnovers at the Bradley Center. But Milwaukee's aggression did show up in the foul count as it was called for 27 fouls compared to 15 for the visitors.
Tom Westerholm of MassLive noted Horford's teammate Marcus Morris couldn't hold back his thoughts after being called for a technical foul in the contest.
"I can't even speak on it, man," Morris said. "It's been the same s--t all year. I'm expecting it. They knew what they wanted before the game started. They knew who they wanted to go after. So that's on them."
The Celtics still hold a 2-1 series lead. Game 4 is scheduled for Sunday at 1 p.m. ET in Milwaukee.
