Donovan Mitchell Carried Off During Game 5 vs. Rockets with Left Foot Injury
Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell suffered a left foot injury during Game 5 of the team's second-round series against the Houston Rockets at Toyota Center on Tuesday.
After the game, the Jazz announced Mitchell's X-rays were negative. He will undergo more tests in Salt Lake City.
Bleacher Report showed Mitchell being helped off the floor:
Mitchell suffered a left foot contusion during his team's first 2018 playoff game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, but he was durable throughout his debut NBA campaign and appeared in 79 regular-season games.
The Louisville product wasted little time making an impact on the Jazz, as he averaged 20.5 points, 3.7 assists, 3.7 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game during the regular season while serving as the go-to option in Utah's offense.
Mitchell can stretch opposing defenses with his perimeter shooting, and his ability to attack the lane off the bounce forces additional attention in his direction and opens up looks for his teammates.
The Jazz struggled to replicate his impact down the stretch of Tuesday's contest, which they went on to lose, 112-102. He tallied 24 points and nine assists before exiting.
