Paul George to Miss 6-8 Weeks After Undergoing Surgery on Knee Injury
Oklahoma City Thunder swingman Paul George underwent an arthroscopic procedure on his left knee on Wednesday and will be sidelined for six to eight weeks, according to The Undefeated's Marc J. Spears.
George looked sharp during his first year with the Thunder, appearing in 79 regular-season games and averaging 21.9 points, 5.7 rebounds and a career-high 2.0 steals per game. He earned his fifth All-Star appearance in six years, with the only exception being when he was limited to just six games after breaking his leg.
The 28-year-old went to Oklahoma City in an offseason trade that sent Victor Oladipo and Domantas Sabonis to the Indiana Pacers, but it's unclear what the future will hold for him.
George will be an unrestricted free agent this summer, and the Thunder are expected to have fierce competition to retain his services.
"I'd love to remain a Thunder, but that's what the summer is for," George said after the Thunder were knocked out of the first round of the playoffs, according to the Oklahoman's Erik Horne. "So, we'll address that in the summer."
