Magic Johnson: Lakers Want Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram to 'Change Their Body'
Los Angeles Lakers president of basketball operations Magic Johnson would like to see two of the team's young stars transform their physiques this offseason.
Johnson stressed during his exit meeting with reporters Friday how important it will be for Lonzo Ball and Brandon Ingram to get stronger, according to Mike Bresnahan of Spectrum SportsNet.
"We want them to change their body," Johnson said. "We feel like Lonzo can take his game to the next level."
Johnson also said the growth of their young players this season started with Julius Randle "changing his body."
Randle played all 82 games for the first time in his career this season and set a career high with 16.1 points per game.
Ball and Ingram only played a combined 111 games in 2017-18 due to injuries. Ingram tied Randle and Kyle Kuzma for the team lead with 16.1 points per game, and Ball led the team with 7.2 assists.
