Mississippi State Students Arrested for Stealing Alabama Memorabilia
Four Mississippi State students have been accused of stealing memorabilia from Alabama's athletic facility, according to the Associated Press (via ESPN.com).
A break-in occurred before dawn April 4 at the Mal M. Moore Athletic Facility. Although the building was unoccupied at the time, the crime was captured on security cameras.
All four students have received a felony charge of third-degree burglary.
"The future status of the students with MSU will be determined after they have received their due process of law rights according to existing university policies," Mississippi State spokesman Sid Salter said in a statement, adding, "Clearly, these individuals will have to face the consequences of their actions, whatever those actions might be."
According to Stephanie Taylor of the Tuscaloosa News, the University of Alabama will not comment on what was stolen or whether the items were returned.
Considering the Crimson Tide football team has won 17 national championships, including five in the last nine years, there was likely quite a bit of memorabilia at the athletic facility.
