Erik BeastonApr 4, 2018

The top stories and most heated rivalries will come to a head Sunday night inside the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans as WWE presents its annual sports-entertainment spectacular, WrestleMania 34.

A card featuring the top Superstars in professional wrestling and the greatest attractions the industry has to offer, it is a loaded one of 13 matches.

From championship bouts to heated grudge matches, the show figures to have something for fans of every style.

Predictions

Babyface Wins

WrestleMania is the culmination of ongoing storylines, including some that have been months in the making and as such conditions are favorable for babyface wins.

Roman Reigns and Shinsuke Nakamura will likely leave New Orleans with championship gold around their waist. Even if The Artist does not win the title, AJ Styles will retain and ensure that both titles are carried by popular WWE Superstars.

Ronda Rousey and Kurt Angle winning in the former's first match is a given, while Daniel Bryan claiming victory in his first match in three years also appears a certainty.

Those four top matches are just the start of what figures to be a card heavy with babyface victories. That is, barring any twists or swerves from WWE Creative.

Paying off months of storylines and rewarding the fans with their favorites going over is what WrestleMania was built on. This year, in that respect, should be a throwback.

The Undertaker vs. John Cena Will Not Happen

Despite teases for an actual Undertaker vs. John Cena match, a traditional wrestling bout between the two will not actually happen. Instead, the issues between The Phenom and The Cenation Leader will manifest themselves in an unofficial fight.

With 13 matches already slated for the broadcast, it is difficult to find room for a 20- to 30-minute match between the icons.

Settling for a fight between the two also allows Undertaker to hold onto the symbolic goodbye that closed out last year's show.

While that may not be what fans want, it may be best for an aging veteran whose last few dances on the WrestleMania stage have not lived up to the quality fans expect from him.

Ronda Rousey Impresses In First Match

There is a reason to be concerned about Ronda Rousey and what will be her first in-ring performance Sunday night as she teams with Kurt Angle to battle Triple H and Stephanie McMahon.

She has limited experience and as such could stumble on the biggest stage known to professional wrestling.

Rousey, though, has been under the brightest lights and on the biggest stages in mixed martial arts during her time with UFC. She has been faced with delivering in big spots and has succeeded.

That will be no different Sunday night as she impresses even her harshest critics en route to tapping Stephanie McMahon out to her vaunted armbar and beginning a winning streak that may well set her up for a showdown with Asuka at some point in the future.
