Dennis Smith Jr., Mark Gottfried Subjects of NC State's FBI Subpoena
One week after NC State confirmed it received a subpoena regarding the FBI's probe into corruption in men's college basketball, the school revealed more information on Friday.
According to Dan Kane of the Raleigh News & Observer, the subpoena requested information regarding the team's former guard Dennis Smith Jr. as well as Mark Gottfried, who was head coach for the Wolfpack from 2011-17, and his coaching staff.
Last week, NC State athletics spokesman Fred Demarest told Jesse Dougherty and Will Hobson of the Washington Post that while NC State received a subpoena, no current players or coaches were contacted by the FBI or asked to appear before a grand jury.

Pat Forde and Pete Thamel of Yahoo Sports published a report in February that detailed potential NCAA violations uncovered by the FBI.
Smith was included on a balance sheet from ASM sports agency with the header "Loan to Players" in FBI documents obtained by Forde and Thamel.
He reportedly received $43,500, according to the document, but another sheet said Smith was given $73,500 in loans.
Smith played one season at NC State in 2016-17 before entering the NBA draft. He was selected with the No. 9 overall pick by the Dallas Mavericks, and he is averaging 14.9 points, 4.9 assists and 3.8 rebounds per game as a rookie.
Gottfried went 123-86 with the Wolfpack and made the NCAA tournament four times.
He was fired at the conclusion of the 2016-17 campaign after a second consecutive year outside the Big Dance. On Tuesday, he was announced as the new head men's basketball coach at Cal State-Northridge.
The Wolfpack went 21-12 this season under Kevin Keatts, and they were eliminated in the first round of the NCAA tournament by Seton Hall on Thursday in a 94-83 loss.
