Deshazor Everett, Redskins Agree to Multiyear Contract Extension
The Washington Redskins announced Tuesday they have re-signed safety Deshazor Everett to a multiyear contract, although official terms were not disclosed.
The former undrafted free agent played exclusively as a reserve in his first two seasons but started eight of his 14 contests in 2017. He finished the season with a career-high 62 tackles, which ranked fifth on the team.
Although his playing time fluctuated throughout the year, he was a key contributor during the final six games of the season, appearing in at least 90 percent of defensive snaps each game, per Pro Football Reference.

He also contributed as a special teams ace, ranking third on the team with 235 snaps during the season.
After bouncing around several organizations in 2015 before latching on with the Redskins practice squad, Everett has finally made a name for himself and was rewarded with a new deal to provide some security for his future.
Meanwhile, the Redskins now have plenty of depth at safety going forward with D.J. Swearinger excelling in his first season with the team and Montae Nicholson holding his own as a rookie.
After ranking ninth against the pass last season, Washington hopes to continue its solid play in 2018.
On the other hand, this could represent the end for veteran free agent DeAngelo Hall, who has only appeared in eight total games over the last two seasons.
