Tottenham Transfer News: Spurs Reportedly Reject Real Madrid Harry Kane Bid
Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly rejected Real Madrid's opening bid to sign striker Harry Kane after a Spanish journalist said Los Blancos offered £177 million for his signature.
Mikael McKenzie of the Daily Express cited a report from Eduardo Inda, a journalist who features on Spanish show El Chiringuito TV, who said the offer consisted of a £155 million cash sum along with £22 million in add-ons.
The reported offer is not far from the world-record £200 million sum that took Neymar to Paris Saint-Germain from Barcelona last summer, evidence of just how highly rated Kane is.

The 24-year-old leads the Premier League Golden Boot race with 23 goals this season, one more than in-form Mohamed Salah, and Kristof Terreur of Het Laatste Nieuws recently illustrated the elite company he finds himself in:
Still several years from reaching his prime, Kane has netted at least 21 league goals in each of the last four seasons and looks set to break the 30-goal mark in the Premier League for the first time in his career this term.
That kind of superlative scoring form has inevitably drawn attention from some of Europe's biggest powers, but Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino has taken no heed of the speculation regarding his star frontman, via Goal:
Real are widely expected to make significant moves in the summer transfer market after struggling this season, and striker Karim Benzema is one player under the microscope after scoring only six goals in 25 outings.
Los Blancos would be making an upgrade if they were to recruit Kane, according to former England and Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand, who told BT Sport he's the best in the world in his position:
Should word of Real's eye-watering offer for Kane prove true, it begs the question as to what the north Londoners' price would be if they were to sell, having let Gareth Bale leave for a then-world-record £86 million in 2013.
Former Premier League defender Joleon Lescott recently appeared on Match of the Day and suggested even an amount matching Neymar's world-record fee may not be sufficient:
Kane's arrival could go a long way to solving Real's attacking woes that have in part led to this season's disappointments, but Tottenham's initial refusal to sell has sent the Spaniards back to the drawing board.
