Angels in The Outfield?
The season began in complete turmoil. The rookie making his first start of the new season comes out and pitches a great game. Then tragedy strikes.
I remember watching the news when this happened and was completely shocked. I just could not imagine not only what the team was going through but what a bombshell was dropped on this young mans family.
I can say that I am not much of an Angels fan, but I have always followed them. They have a high powered offense and a great pitching staff, so whats not to love about them?

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
After the Angels beat the Red Sox in such dismantling fashion one could only hope that this teams courage and camaraderie for one another would push them to the promise land and finally get back to the world series. Just watching the entire team pour back out onto that field and go to that outfield wall with Nicks photo on it was awe inspiring. I knew this team had an angel looking over them.
Baseball is the hardest of the four major sports to make the playoffs in my opinion and for a good part of this decade the Angels have consistently put out outstanding teams. They have won a world series and they have been in the playoffs quite frequently. But I think this team is different. They lost a brother so early in the season that they didn't have time to cope such a magnificent loss of such a promising young man.
And now here we sit today with the all powerful Yankees one game away from heading to another world series and I think to myself, can the Angels pull a miraculous upset much like Boston did so in 2004? Who knows just yet. But what I can tell you right now is that this 2009 Angels team is one heck of a team. They had to deal with pain no other team has had to go through this season and has bettered themselves as a whole over such a tragic loss.
