While this self-proclaimed Jets spokesperson did not specify the years attached to his offer, $60 million would comfortably make Bell the highest-paid running back in NFL history. Last August, Devonta Freeman signed a record-setting extension for five years and $41.25 million.

Per Spotrac, Bell played 2017 on a one-year, $12.12 million franchise tag. The 25-year-old star says he'll consider retirement if the Pittsburgh Steelers tag him again.

He understandably wants long-term stability—but not with Gang Green. After ranking No. 28 in total offense during their second straight 5-11 campaign, the Jets would benefit greatly from a backfield upgrade of Bell's caliber.

Then again, so would every other team.

If $60 million is not enough, it's safe to say Bell will not join the Jets this offseason.
