
Carson Wentz Thinks He'll Be Ready for Week 1 After Season-Ending Knee Injury
As the Philadelphia Eagles continue to prepare for Super Bowl LII, quarterback Carson Wentz is looking ahead to his return next season.
Wentz's year ended prematurely when he tore the ACL in his left knee during a Week 14 win over the Los Angeles Rams, but he anticipates being back for the Eagles' first game in 2018.
“I truly believe I’ll be ready for Week 1,” he said Friday, via Zach Berman of the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Per Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Daily News, Wentz confirmed he had surgery to repair his ACL and LCL.
Wentz did note it's "tough" to offer an exact timetable at this point, but he's hopeful to be back for the season opener, per Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Nick Foles has been Philadelphia's starting quarterback for the past five games, including the postseason. He threw for 352 yards and three touchdowns in a 38-7 win over the Minnesota Vikings in the NFC Championship Game.
Drafted second overall by the Eagles in 2016, Wentz was putting up MVP numbers in his second season. He finished second in the NFL with 33 touchdown passes, despite missing the final three games, and led the league with a 74.4 QBR.
The Eagles earned the No. 1 seed in the NFC playoffs after putting up a 13-3 record, with 11 wins coming when Wentz was the starting quarterback.
